I am an azzhole....

Lady told me so

I KNOW that I can be one....maybe I was?

Pulled in to fill up at a busy station, all 20 pumps occupied, one or two cars in line at half of 'em, so I waited my turn, and began the fill up. Noticed the lady at the pump next to me just sitting in the driver's seat yacking on her phone the whole time (not pumping gas)....watched a couple of cars behind her move to different pumps too. So after I finished, there were still two cars behind her....this was after about ten minutes of watching as I fueled, so I walked over to her car and asked her if she saw the cars waiting behind her .

She then drove away while telling me I was an azzhole...maybe so...I dunno???

Glad I was in the F150 though....in the Carrera I'm sure I would have been a prick instead .

Was I? Would I do it over again....yep.

What say ye?

Dude in a batchelor's level MongoDB class is having an issue downloading a simple file to import some data. Mind you, he should already have an AS in either programming or networking. He's posted quite a few times on a discussion, but what did it for me was that he sent me email personally and demanded that I help him.

So I replied to one of his discussion posts with this - what is great is that other than this guy, I've had all of my fellow students as students in my Linux classes that I teach... and they know how I'll reply to demands and idiocy

We are your fellow students, not obligated to help, and you haven't even given us enough information on your issue to actually give you help if we were inclined to do so.

I will recommend reading How to Ask Questions the Smart Way (Links to an external site.).. And then perhaps come back and re-ask for help, giving enough information that someone can actually help you.

And I'm fairly sure our instructor would want you to provide enough information in a question so that she can answer it, instead of asking for the information needed.

And CERTAINLY do not email me directly asking for help. Unless it isn't course work related and you are prepared to pay my hourly consulting rate.

I had kinda the reverse of that situation once. I was at a gas pump pumping gas. The gas was flowing. Some dipstick pulled in RIGHT next to my front bumper to wait on that particular pump. My tank is 21 gallons and I needed the typical 18 to 19 gallons and the pumps are not real fast. Other pumps opened up and he waited for the one I was using. Finally every other pump was open except the one I was at. To leave I was going to have to back up across a busy parking lot around one delivery truck.
I decided I needed to check my engine oil level. I had to walk to one side to get it open and then around the back of the El Camino to get to the side of the engine with the dip stick. It was fine so I decided my windshield needed to be cleaned.

Then I suddenly had the urge to check my tire pressures. So I was slowly unscrewing the first valve stem cap with my pressure gauge in hand and he finally decided he had had had enough so he backed out and took off at a high rate of speed and almost ran into a cop. When I left there was no one else getting gas. I have no idea why he felt it necessary to use that one pump, and only that one. I could not see if the cop followed him. I really hope he ran out of gas.

If I want you, I will set you up to go off, so you wind up doing the dirty work of looking bad while I play innocent.

<<<<<<<< Really now, do ya think that little descriptive phrase under my screen name doesn't mean sumthing? I think a lot of you have either forgotten or haven't been around long enough to remember.

One day long ago when I worked for a living...surprised? A Brotha said to me "Get the fk outa my way." I responded, Ubbba ouula wallla." A bit later that same Brotha ((he was a REAL OG from S Central) told me, "I could shoot you right between the eyes go home watch cartoons and laugh my head off." AND HE WAS SERIOUS...

Later when Mgt wanted to fire his younger brother for NOT DOING ANYTHING...they called him into the office to explain to him why they had to fire his brother.

I pulled into a truck stop somewhere in Texas on I-10 (A pilot station with some fast food franchise in it) to get fuel. Trucks are stacked up two deep waiting to get to the pumps. Trucks that finish fueling pull ahead so the next one can start. I pick a line (never the right one) and wait. Finally the truck in front of me gets to the pump. The door swings open and this 400lb gorilla lowers himself out and waddles over to the truck stop. 20 minutes later he waddles back to his truck with 2 giant size fast food bags, gets in his truck, and leaves.

Speaking of being told what to do.
I used to work out at a club with pro body builders.
I was on a lat pull-down apparatus when a muscle head tapped me on the shoulder and said, "Are you done?"
I said, "Not yet."
He leaned down to my face and said, "You're done!"

Note: He had a huge square jaw (Arnold Schwarzeneggeresque) ...indicating a steroid user...and I knew that they have a huge temper problem.

I got up and walked away. Smart of me, eh?

I get all heated up when they pull up to an empty island and stop at the first pump instead of pulling forward to the second.

A couple times when someone did that I darn near wore out my power steering pump maneuvering my pickem-up around the station so I could back up to the pump in front of them.

Fill up 25+ gallons, a trip to the snack shop, gotta go back fer a receipt, wash windows, dig all the papers and junk out of the cubby holes and throw it in the trash, and on and on.
You'd be amazed how long all of that can take!
