There's also Cafe Sabarsky in the Neue Galerie on the SE corner of 86th and 5th. I'm quite partial to it.

Wow. That looks outstanding. I wish we had been directed there. I am pretty sure I am thinking about Nectar. We ate there a couple of times before discovering the New American Wing Café in the Met. We found it by asking some of the volunteers at the information desk where they would eat that was within walking distance. I wish she had directed us a few more blocks to the Neue Galerie. But the chicken sandwiches in the café are really remarkable.

The Neue Galerie is itself worth the visit - for Klimt's "Woman in Gold" if for nothing else (There was an excellent Klimt exhibit there a couple of years ago). The cafe is very Old Word and charming. I had a coffee and linzertorte there on Monday before having to leave for LGA and promptly getting f***ed by the 4/5/6 train.
