Good one.
I need to revisit John Wayne. This will make baby Jesus cry and something that I don't often admit, but I seldom care for his acting. He has a few films that I like, but I've never considered myself a fan. Now that I'm older, maybe my tastes have changed...

A "Modern" Western that might make the list is "Bad Day At Black Rock" with Spencer Tracy and a very young James Coburn.

Barbarosa. Willie Nelson and Gary Busey - 1982. One of the all-time under-rated sleepers of the Western genre. Watch it and believe. Stunning in simplicity of message, purity of form, all set against the background of the beautiful and unforgiving Big Bend country of southwest Texas.

Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid should be in the Western category. Therefore should be at the top of the list.

G'day!

Regarding Clint.....always appreciated "Two Mules for Sister Sara" more than some of his others. Interesting storyline for one. Then there's Shirley MacLaine.....for another.....
