A guy i carpool with has one of them Kia hamster-wagons, the Kia soul.
I was totally surprised how much room there is in that thing and how comfortable it is. The ride is pretty good for a small car and it doesn't rattle or buzz. Much. I'm not considering buying a kia soul but don't mind riding in one, especially if someone else is paying for the gas. I like it a hundred times more than the POS nissan sentra my wife bought for our daughter, who gave it to my son when my wife gave her a murano, which she traded in on a lexus. Kia and Hyundai are no longer "nice for the money", they are simply nice cars. I travel a lot for work and will pick a Kia or Hyundai over a Toyota any day of the week, they have nicer interiors and are nicer to drive. We had a 2017 Toyota Sienna XLE AWD that we bought from my parents and hated it, minimal and poorly designed features, cheaply made, poorly finished, just a crappy van all around. We tested all of the van options before buying a Ford Flex instead, and our favorite of the bunch was the Kia Sedona. Not being the type that cares about brand cachet, we would have absolutely bought one. The Stinger is a great looking car but still uniquely styled, which hasn't been the case with past Korean cars. They are finally moving past the "me too" styling and developing their own design language, which is good. Kia hired the Audi design chief away from them 5-ish years ago and you can definitely see some Audi in their designs, particularly inside.

For me because I don't buy brand new cars, I would like to see how these Korean cars age or how they stand up to after 8 years, this includes the styling.
I just bought a '98 SL500 and to me that car is so beautiful for a 20 year old car that I paid less than the price of a Hyundai Accent.

I rented out a KIA Soul when I took a trip to Western NC to view the Eclipse.
Not a bad car, plenty of room and handled very well on the mountain roads going up the 8 mile logging trail on the side of one of the mountains, reminded me of one of the "death Highway" videos, no guardrail on the side of the road Zero rattles and the transmission did a great job selecting the correct gears going up the twisty roads.Seats were decent and my back was not hurting me after the 12 hour drive back home It should have been 4 1/2 hour drive but a Semi plunged off the road just past Black Mountain on I-40 so we were sitting in gridlock for a long time. Much better then the Hyundai's I have rented out over the years. I wonder what the residual will be for a Stinger after 3 years?

Good in a straight line but from what i have read the Genesis and Stinger have a long way to go in the suspension/handling department.

![]() The Genesis is really a different niche, more of a Lexus LS on a budget. I've read several comparisons between the Stinger and European sport sedans and it sounds like unless you are really hustling the Stinger, like on a track, then they are very comparable. For most people that will be more than enough, and the Stinger offers more equipment and power for less money.

A good friend of mine bought a used Hyundai 7 or 8 years ago, I think it might be an elantra.
At the time i remembered thinking that it would be worn out and broken down before he ever paid it off. He's got well over 200k miles on it now and it just keeps going. I'm surprised how well it has stood up. The most miles I have ever put on as vehicle was 150k on a chebby silverado, so 200k seems like a go-zillion to me. |

I think it does if you buy CPO from a dealer.
