KIA bringing it

Have to say the Korean brands, Hyundai, KIA, have really been upping their game.

Hyundai with their Genesis line now KIA drops the Stinger.

0-60 in 4.4

365 HP

167 MPH

Twin Turbo RWD Coupe all starting at $32k.

Seems like that price is a little high. I paid $29k for a Mustang GT with 435 hp that handles better than a well-set up 944 (and I should know).

Yeah but the Stinger is a 5 door and goes around corners.

Saw a Stinger in a parking lot yesterday. Nice looking ride! I have liked the Genesis line and will probably grab one when I see a good used AWD pop up. I think Genesis just started building AWD so I'll have to wait a little while.

I recently had a Kia Optima as a rental. Nice car. Peppy turbo engine, build quality was very good. Gas mileage was amazing.

I often rent a car from FLL to EYW (or back) ..... I always ask for the Hyundai. Comfortable and excellent mpg.

I'm no fan of Asian cars but Hyundai and Kia have done a very good job with the styling of their cars. A few years ago their target was Toyota - both benchmarked styling. performance and handling - they offer an excellent warranty too.

The local Kia dealership has cured me of EVER owning a Kia. For the last 7 years, he has mass marketed his dealership on every local radio, and TV station with multiple annoyingly loud commercials every 1/2 hour. They must be selling a lot of cars to the sheep, because that must be a YUGE advertising budget. I don't personally know anyone who has bought one....I'll stick with Ford.

BTW, with it's new 4 wheel independant suspension, I would match a similar HP Mustang to a Stinger any day, on any track. Weight might be the only drawback, but I just bet the Stinger couldn't run away from a V6 Mustang.

I can remember when "made in japan" was an insult.
Things changed, they got better, their products eventually became top of the heap in quality (and in many cases, price).
Then the Koreans started making stuff and it wasn't that great.
Note that I am NOT talking about just cars here, i'm talking all sorts of electronics, industrial equipment, tooling etc.
Then it started getting better and better, now it's almost as good as the Japanese stuff.

So what's next?

IN 10 or 15 years or so we'll prolly be talking about how good the Chinese cars are and how much they've improved.

Very, very similar with a lot of the wording the same, but usually uses former presidents arguing with each other, or a high pitched male (female?) voice getting louder with each word. Taylor Kia in Findlay Ohio.

You wouldn't buy a certain brand car because the dealer has a stupid commercial on the radio?

Tell you the truth, I secretly want to buy one of those KIA instead of a Panamara. Well, Lexus, Infinity then the one of those KIA. I have no idea how many models they make, but on the used market, its a bang up deal. I rather fix that KIA then for the Panamara

Looks nice but I wonder if they considered how close the name Stinger is to Stinker.

Why is that important? I know, I know, name means lots to most people. Hell, I could care less what the name is as long as it goes and doesn't leave me stranded on the side of the road
