WiFi password drove me crazy last night!!!

I decided to get the Blink camera system from my last post.

Everything was great until I had to enter my password. I must have entered it 50 times with out connecting. I texted my son, who said try a space before or after the password. It worked.

That was frustrating!

How in the hell are you supposed to know to add a space when entering it?

PS: the system works great.

It's a secret handshake thing. Usually known only to young people. I text my son for tech help and get an answer in 2 minutes.

Did you son setup the WiFi?

It's not a good idea to use a password that includes a non printable character.
But it often happens accidentally when people are storing passwords in a text file.

Exactly, you type the password into a notepad, document, etc..., or maybe even have it generated by some website or tool, but then when you copy/paste from that location to where you have to enter it, an extra character gets picked up accidentally.

what that means to me is that the password is configured "wrong" and needs to be fixed.

I never put spaces in my passwords... And mine has 16 characters at least, with a numeric string and non-alphabet characters somewhere.

Change your password. myS#cretW1F1P@ss0429

I set up the wifi. Who knows, but he may have added the space at the end of the router password when he was here last summer.

I was miffed when I couldn't get the camera going.
