I just love how you put in the tire rubbed marks on the curb along with the cracks. I am sure there are lots more of those real world details, but they just can't be seen from the photos.

Thank you again!

It really does need to be seen in person. I was not expecting it to sell the first day and was kind of hoping it would be on display for awhile so a lot of people could see it.

But I'm ok with it selling too!

I appreciate the hard work, the attention to detail, and the long hours. This is great!

How many hours does it take to build something like this?

I don't really keep track of time, but I would guess around 150 hours and some of that was just staring at it thinking about what to do next.

I built a few models when I was a kid, but would get really frustrated trying to get chrome right or shave body lines, get paint to not run, etc... You've mastered those things and much more. Kudos. Looks amazing.

Thanks!

I also built models when I was a kid.....many many years ago! But stopped as a teen because building models was kid stuff! I realized in my 30s that I really enjoyed building model cars and after majoring in architectural drafting, I wanted to try scratch building garages and barns etc. The first ones were pretty basic and the next ones got a little better.

Not sure that I've mastered anything though....I still screw up and learn something new every build!

Thanks again!

Can you still buy Balsa wood airplanes. The ones with a prop and a rubber band down the center?
I had wood and plastic models hanging from my ceiling as a kid. Loved the Revell line of kits.
I had ships and hot rods, too.

But what you do, Rob, is just beyond!!!

Many of us build models as kids. They were one of the hot items to do and keep up busy just like video games today I was really into it and was really caught up in the WWII German stuff. Starting to learn to modify some of the solder's arm and position once I discovered putty. There's always the plan we had to learn to read in order to assembly the kit. RKT has no kit or instructions so everything has to be measured to scale and build from a bunch of wood and plastic pieces. That's the hard part. I like to give that a try someday. I think it would be a lot of fun.

Is your stuff on display out in Palm Desert?

Pretty much everything I build now goes to the Gallery of Speed in Laguna Beach.
It's all automotive art....amazing photos by John Straub, incredibly real paintings by Steve Foster, unbelievable drawings by Chris Dunlop and others.

R K T, I always get excited when I get to see you post photos of your masterpieces! Seeing them in person just makes things so much more fascinating. Fantastic work on this Laguna Porsche diorama! I wish I had the skill and attention to detail that you do to build these. I look forward to seeing the updates, so keep amazing the rest of us with the work you do!
