Oh, so now we're saying there's a chance that Bush will do something similar to what Hitler did? Isn't there also a CHANCE that Bush will beat Michael Jordan in a game of one on one? Sure he might turn into the next Hitler and he might turn into the next Mary Poppins. So now anytime a countries economy is in a recession are we going to say the leader could potentially turn into the next Hitler?
Where was all the leftist outrage in 1998 in Operation Desert Fox when President Clinton launched 500 cruise missiles against Iraq for violating the same UN resolutions we are talking about today? Why did the Senate vote 98-0 to allow Clinton to bomb Baghdad for violating UN Resolutions? Where the F$%^ was Susan Sarandon when that happened? Obviously, just bombing Iraq wasn't enough as most of us have learned by now. If it was OK for Clinton to attack Iraq 5 years ago with Senate approval? Why is Bush "Hitler" for wanting to do the job right this time with SENATE APPROVAL? |

If thats the case as Americans......Hardflex and jared..your one of the BAD GUYS too.... you reap the benfits of living in America and are unwilling to acknowledge the responsibility you bear for those benfits... nothing comes for free.....but yet U live in denial that your hands have blood on them to. If you are so dispassionate about America being the Bad Guy, you have the option of living in another part of the world where those benfits aren't manifest......

"I would be a conservative except for the conservatives"
I've never voted for a Democrat candidate in my life! And you are calling me leftist! OK, i'm officially renouncing my republican party membership. I want back the money i've donated too! For the record, were you hawks on board when Clinton decided to send troops into Bosnia, or were you spouting the dittohead pablam of the day. What you guys need to worry about is that this president is going to completely dismantle everything Reagan, Gengrich, Armey, et al built during the 80's and 90's.

Here's an interesting story about a guy on the front lines of international diplomacy.
- UNITED NATIONS, Feb. 26 — A career diplomat who has served in United States embassies from Tel Aviv to Casablanca to Yerevan resigned this week in protest against the country's policies on Iraq. The diplomat, John Brady Kiesling, the political counselor at the United States Embassy in Athens, said in his resignation letter, "Our fervent pursuit of war with Iraq is driving us to squander the international legitimacy that has been America's most potent weapon of both offense and defense since the days of Woodrow Wilson." - but what does he know

According to the leftist propaganda spouted here......your a BAD GUY because your an American with all the luxuries that have been gotten by the sweat of the poor oppressed of the world. You and your government have spread that diease called Globalization better known as American Imperialism throughout the world. It's Mickey Mouse who has the Mailed Fist and it's backed up by comparison the velvet gloved American Military.

It seems a strong argument could be made that binladen and saddam are PO'd with the US due to the type of handling that was prevalent during those times. In other words, in light of recent events, we just may need to dismantle and/or rethink some of those past policies. Why is that bad?

shouldn't all this just have been included in the 'what do you think about all this' thread?
America isn't evil, and it isn't a bad place to live. I just don't like what the government is doind right now. Period. The people that love America the most are the ones that are most critical.

What's really going on in Iraq?
Quote:
* The gassing of Iraqi people went on for years with the implied consent of the US * The US allowed for the export of chemical weapons technology This administration doesn't care about people. It cares about power. I just hope that Bush's cowboy mentallity doesn't piss-off the terrorists even more and provoke another 9/11. |

Re: Spelling champ...
Nate,
I don't believe we could piss-off the terrorists even more. For a decade they took shots at bringing down the WTC. That was back when we did very little to piss them off. They want to be taken seriously. . .now they got it. On things to be taken less seriously: Quote:
You, going back though my post so you can find a mis-spelled word; that's just sad. . ..it's like going around, looking up peoples butts, and then announcing "hey everybody look . . .I found a turd!" Whoohoo Curt, you get a gold star for all your fine work.

Most of the Middle East lives in extreme poverty (per capita GDP of Iraq, for example, is US$2,500 as compared to US$36,000 here in the US). It's an issue of rich vs. poor. Same as it is everywhere else in the world. The rich (us) make the policy and try to force everyone else to follow it. Eventually, the poor get sick of being screwed and fight back. |

Nate,
It's true, the terrorist are not being taken seriously, but only for those issues they would like to be taken seriously for. (such as the influx western culture in this age of open communication). As you rightfully point out "Most of the Middle East lives in extreme poverty" . . though considering how much oil they are sitting on, why is that our fault? Well, we are the ones that have a more balanced society; and in the age of communication, our model is a threat to the region. . . .even perhaps the Saudi royal family, for instance. The terrorist are, however being take seriously for their threat level. As they should be! 10 years ago I got my Mechanical engineering degree. (the same degree the 9/11 "master mind" has.) Even then I was concerned about how quickly the US was exporting what could be "sensitive technology." I remember the average Physic, chem, cmpt sci, and Mech degreed people each had the knowlege to do some very serious damage, if so inclined. I also remeber how the US would give foreigners full rides, and these students had the full intention of returning to their home countries with there new found knowledge, asap. So while the "knowledge genie" may be out of the bottle, we can't wait for more evil application of said knowledge (read: WTC) we have got to go after those with bad intent. (no doubt, that can get tricky)

Curtus....I allready disclosed the fact that I look very hard at what I write to see if I am projecting my own whoas onto my view of the world situation. I always have that in the back of my mind when I write something....it keeps me honest.
Who cares about whether or not you can speel corectly or not, I am not writing a proffessional paper here. I am the first one to admit I have to look up the word dog 4 times to make sure i get it write.
