Wow some serious cleaning folks here. I run a bore snake 3-4 times through barrel and follow with a couple patches of hoppes oil to finish. The only exception to this rule is the M44 shooting WW1 corrosive ammo, we run a couple pints of hot water to remove the gunk, then hoppes for a coating. Well that and the 686 which my son runs a dremel buffer to remove the powder stains after each range shoot. It is his first handgun and takes pride in the appearance
I break down the Mini-14 once a year for a full clean. Same for the scatter guns. They function just fine regardless.
