Question regarding fibreglass roof
Hi,
I am considering buying a 911 project and have found a cabriolet that might be suitable. My intention is to convert it into a coupe, using either a whole roof clip in steel or a fibreglass solution (https://www.gt-racing.com/porsche-911-complete-roof-conversion-part-22a/). The steel conversion seems like it’s a major project. Is the fibreglass roof conversion fairly straight forward without the need for cutting the A-pillars and just bonding the fibreglass with the cabriolet’s upper windshield frame? If going with the fibreglass roof I intend to put in a roll bar. Would appreciate any input. |

Save your money and find a coupe.

The steel replacement takes time, skill, metalwork and bodywork. The glass replacement takes your sanity away because it doesn’t really fit. It’s a vague approximation of a roof and is really ment for the track and placed over a roll cage. Don’t count on using real windows on the glass version.
