Group Buy Carbon Fiber short hood

Hey everyone. This post is spanning from a preliminary discussion on carbon fiber parts people might have wanted.
Iwant to get a group buy going for our first production mold of the 911 1974-89 Short Hood and then go from there. Same quality as our Ferrari hoods shown below

Preliminary info.
Weighs apx. 10lbs
Built by resin infusion, vacuum bagging
True carbon fiber hood (Same quality used in F1 racing standards)
I need a run of 10 hoods for this project. Who is interested?

2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

9.
10.

Introductory price $699. Future Retail $850. Compare others at $900-1100 for true full carbon (not plastic liners). Shipping cost depends on your location.
Stainless Steel inserts for hinges and latches

After we get this up and running we can do foam core, CF paint prepped, or fiber glass variations as requested.

I am also interested in making the 3 piece FG and CF engine "sheet metal" tins, center dash in CF, top dash (FG or CF), reflector replacement panel, replacement dash tops, and will consider the smaller bits like the battery and fuse cover...i am keeping a list! We have a good production crew so we can get things up and running on new parts quickly.

Here is some photos of some Ferrari hoods we are doing, along with some Dodge and Corvette parts.

I may be interested. But, it needs to be 10lbs or less (I already have a 12lb FG one) and it must not flex in at 80+mph like my current FG one does. It needs to be stiff enough to not flex or burp in at speed.

Flange thickness is crucial as well, the FG ones are famous for needing trimming (sanding) of the edge thickness to get the hood to sit flush...

cheers

Definitely interested albeit with the same concerns as Jeff. Is the resin being contemplated UV stable or will these need to be cleared with a UV inhibiter so as not to yellow?

Thanks much,

JP

The clear coat blocks the UV fading. They are automotive cleared after they are pulled from the molds. You wont need to do this.
