Welding question for reinforcements

I'm getting ready to do some body reinforcements on my 914. As shown in the pic, is it better to have the edge of the weld (yellow) stop at the edge of the radius (like A) or have the metal (magenta) stop at the edge of the radius and weld over the radius?

I realize the radius is likely a little thinner due to stretching - hence the question.

962, I'm fabricating the reinforcements from 14 ga steel. They will look like typical reinforcement pieces (below), but customized to fit better.

if you have the equipment to roll the edge of the plate so that it meets up with the pinch weld . that would be your best bet as the pinch weld is the strongest part if the hole thing .

if not I would go with option 2 and weld it right is the beginning of the roll and maybe lay two beads of weld next to each other .
the down side to that is heat build up from the welds .

sorry I forgot to turn the option 2 drawing side ways before I posted it .

962,

Thanks for the details and the pics. I'm going with your first option. In other areas where the pinch welds are adjacent to my reinforcement piece I had planned to fit my piece so that I can weld at the pinch welds. For these areas with radius' I'll use tabs about 1 inch wide that extend down around the radius and butt against the pinch welds. I can shape these small 1 inch sections by hand.

There are also places where i will weld the edge of the pinch welds to make them more secure.

Thanks again for the feedback.
