Looks like a nice project for the dedicated. Can anyone guess what years these modifications were inspired by.

Old 356s never die they just get darker. The key with old cars is to start the hobby young so talent shines and builds confidence in those select few, as well as having a friend (or a 911 ) who takes you to pca events so can appreciate a little fine history. Of course some guys take their art a little too far some may venture to say. I'll say it now. But this car needs some of its mods reworked.

This car was built to run wasn't it? That has to be the good news here. Like a bigger ...

p.s. Hope the front bodywork doesn't require as much work though (I don't think our eyes can take such a first impression).

Regards,

Ok, busted.. its mine. I just happend to snap the pictures when visiting my storage garage to drop off some parts for it. My friend Chuck who posts here from time to time sold his notch-back project.. and I finaly scored that set of C disc brakes he had! Thanks again Chuck!!

Now if I can get some of the other projects out of the way and get started on this..

what an interesting car, there is a red 356/911 inspired car up here that was built with some of the same features your car appears to have. i have seen pictures of it on here somewhere sitting in daytona, but in the summers it sits 5 blocks from my house next to a seafood store.

is the interior stock 356 or also 911 inspired?

cheers ed

You should snap and post some pics of that car.. I for one would like to see.

Interior is stock 356 with rear bench seat.. still has the original leather and square-weave carpeting largely intact.. I may have some pics.. if so will post.

I've been gathering bits and pieces for sometime.. awaiting moe garage or shop space and then I'll tear into it.

regards,

Paul

Now that I've drunk up the proceeds from the disc brake sale I realize that I miss the Notch and am going into withdrawal being 356-less. I either have to dig deeper into my spares bin for more drink money or start looking for another 356.
Paul, I'm feeling generous and will give you $500 for your abomination.

In my opinion, any restoration is for the dedicated.. that's why I have preserved what was there until I get time to see it through in ernest.

As far as the mods, they will be re-worked as need during the restoration. The car is actually in very good original condition and not rusty,, that's why I bought it.

The car was actually owend by a Porsche Factory worker during the time that poduction of the 911 was begining. All of the mods as steel finished in lead, and use factory modded parts. The only thing that will be change is the engine lid, it will get an aluminum Carrera lid I've had laying around for years.

As for the front, it's modefied as well with a one piece bumper that forms the lower half of the body.. designed like a 911 S front bumper. No changes there.

Parts are still being gathered and I'd think I'm still about a year-out before starting. I just get a kick outta the little bastard everytime I see it!

Chuck.. you gotta know she ain't for sale! I've been dragg'n this one around for at least 2 decades now... since I dumped my C Cab.. the 2nd time!

Besides, although not all 356's.. you've got more than enough projects to keep you busy. And I'm gonna need to get with you for some help on another one of mine (911) that I'm working on! Yeah, I'm trying to get back to the track.. but not as heavily as you! Talk with you soon.

Paul
