Certainly something many of us have thought about the, impact to your industry. My son-in-law’s brother is a flight attendant. Suspect he will or is feeling a pinch. Hope we get over it soon, I enjoy watching your creativity and your great attitude.

Scott, I feel your pain. I watched Dad roll with the ups and downs of your industry. Really sucks. My best wishes to you.

Keep your chin up Scott. Everyone is going to feel this one for a while. It is imperative during trying times to seek out the 'silver linings'. My dad used to tell us kids to take your wins where you can get them. That wisdom applies now as much as ever.
Sadly, I fear things will get worse before they get better. My office is a ghost town right now and so is my wife's. But unlike 9/11, I think once this blows over, things will very rapidly return to normal.

Continuing to work away. 518 hours labor so far.

After completing the headliner I wrapped the A and B pillars. Really pleased how that came out. I saved all the old pieces I took out and used them as templates for cutting the new material. Feeling pretty competent with that task now.

Today I installed my dash pad. Had the stock one covered in leather with orange deviated stitching around the gauge cluster that matches the stitching in the seat. The dash area is basically done and I can get to work on interior insulation and carpet next. I did discover one issue with the interior that is going to bug me. The Momo wheel has white stitching. Dont think I care for that with the orange stitching on the dash and seats. Am considering going orange on that. Want to look into if I can dye the stitching vs paying to have it sent off and redone which I am sure would be quite costly. Since we appear on the verge of global economic collapse I would like to save where I can. lol

Great idea... worth looking in to.

Love the dash Scott.... would love to see a close up of that stitching when you get time.

That is pretty much what I was thinking. Concerned with how it would match though. May just go black.

Could explore a few orange nail polishes and use a toothpick to apply.
Test it out on a similar thickness/composition white string/thread.

That’s funny. The first thing that came to mind when I read the above post was orange sharpie and low and behold...
I used to be a tile setter and would also fabricate stone counter tops from time to time.
I had a Sharpie in every color. Although I mostly used color matching epoxy the Sharpies worked great for little scratches.

When I took my sunroof out I noticed one of the pieces that goes in the back to help align it was missing and the other one was bent. I found you could not buy these individually and did not want to buy the entire track assembly to get one. I have a smart engineer friend with his own business. Guy can make anything. I took it to him and he turned them out of delrin plastic on his lathe. Pretty awesome. Below is the bent one I took him and 1 of the 2 new ones he made me. Put everything back together today and worked like a champ!
Working on carpet now. Here is the heat/sound barrier and the padding that goes below the carpet. I am going to use the stock side panels around the rear and will not have any rear seats. Got the carpet kit from Autobahn.

Scott, How is doing that on your back and knees...? For me it was possibly the toughest part of the build.

Ya not good. Back is bothering me for sure. Luckily I can adjust the height on the lift to get into position a little better for some parts.

Entire project is turning out great! Very impressed with your skills of getting the square weave carpet to lay smoothly. Were you using much heat to shape the panels?

Really the only piece that needed heat was the center hump between the seats.
Honestly the carpet job isn't the greatest. I can spot the flaws but hopefully they wont be to noticeable. Problem with tasks like this is you learn so much the first time and then dont really use it again. I know I could do a really good job the second time! Looks good from 5 feet anyways.

The problem is you know where the flaws are.....mine has many. Others may not see it. That previous sentence is the reason I don't work on other folks cars.

Scott...goes without saying how well this is turning out...the little details you've added are really excellent...the sill stripe trim is a great touch.
One of those things that make you smile every time you get in.
Damn thing'll be too nice to drive!
