Oh, good. I have adj rears too...made that easy. I'd still drive it high water first tho to see what settles.

Looking good. I wouldn't expect it to drop more than an inch after it settles. The online spring plates angle calculators (Will Firch, Elephant Racing) work really well. You're probably going to have to reindex the rear bars. Not too bad a job since everything is new and clean.

Getting closer. Passed 600 hours labor today.
Really want to get the glass in it because I am tired of looking at the open cabin. Have almost all the trim polished. 2 more pieces and then I can try to start installing glass.
Got a few projects held up waiting for small parts I cant do without. Need to set a rough alignment also prior to driving it and then I will be ready to get into testing electrics and firing it up.

Lookin' good, man! Another example of perseverance being a best attribute! Won't be long now. In the future, the biggest decision will be whether to drive the Porsche or the Cobra or the other Porsche! One thing you probably should do if you haven't already is to pull the fuses and clean the oxidation off the terminals. A #2 pencil eraser does a good job cleaning those spots.

Thanks for the suggestion Fred. I actually upgraded the fuse panel and have all new fuses so hopefully I will be good though.

What I really need is someone with your experience to come help me when it becomes first start time!!

If we are out from under the shelter at home mess, I would be happy to trek over to your place and lend a hand. Actually, I don't think you will have much problem as long as the timing is close and you got all the bits back on the CIS! That system is pretty forgiving. When I did my engine, I made a bunch of changes to the CIS plumbing and it still works! Send me a text when it's time and I'll see if I can get over there.

Getting real close. Next update should either be the car running or the remains from the fire. Glass install was quite challenging. Pressure tested the fuel system. Had 2 small drips so tightened up those fittings. Fuel system checks good. Need to check the electrical and get the oil distributed in the motor and then I will be attempting first start.

MAN that looks really nice. ... I’d bet you’re having trouble sleeping due to the excitement.

Not really. haha
Honestly every time I have worked on it lately things have not been going very smoothly. At this point my confidence is down a bit and I am more apprehensive of the next problem than excited. Im sure it will get there though. Did feel really good to get the glass in. Although the trim isn't exactly perfect at a couple places so it may end up coming back out.

I really like that you kept the silver trim. I think it looks better with your paint combination than the black would have.

You’re almost across the finish line now!

So awesome! Every time I see you have updated the thread, I click in hoping it was for a start attempt. And the day has come, first start-first drive, and the horn works, congratulations! She looks so good out in the sun with those wheels.

Now that the initial exuberance has wore off came back down to the shop to weigh the car and took my wife on a circle around the neighborhood.

Weights before -
Weight with 195 lbs in driver seat 2892, FL- 632 (21.9%) RL -862 (29.8%), FR - 526 (18.2%), RR - 871 (30.1%) Front/rear 40.1%/59.9% Left/right 51.7%/48.3%
Cross RL/FR - 52% RR/FL - 48%

Weights now - Fiberglass rear bumper not installed, and a little less gas. Same weight in driver seat. Probably 50 lbs of gas and bumper would be an apples to apples.

Total - 2648
Front 40.1% Rear 59.9%
Left 51.4% Right 48.6%
Cross RL to FR 50.1% RR to FL 49.9%

Roughly 200lbs less. Bumpers, deleted rear seats, RS style door cards, lighter carpet (I think) and probably 30-50 pounds less of dirt and crud! lol

Definitely have lots of work to go.
Speedo, Tach and clock dont work. (Luckily oil pressure and temp and fuel gauge working)
Need to get rear bumper on. (Im enjoying the engine access for now with bumper off)
Think the car needs a tune to some degree. Not sure how to proceed on that.
Brakes are not good. Need to rebleed them.
Need to charge AC system

Very limited run time. I am sure many more gremlins will pop up. Pleased with where it sits today though.
