here's a comparison from a switch from 7 & 8 x16, 205/55 & 225/50 to 7 & 8 x15 205/50 & 225/45.

There are 2 parts to the feel
1) Inertial
2) gearing

Love the look, as I would like to push the feel of the car toward a more vintage feel.
Remember that a lot of these (like mine) are middies...and 7s (fitment) were a challenge (although some run 8s in the back). Personally, I like 7s in the front and back on mine.

You have SC flares and can get a little wider tire/wheel combo under the fender.

Bill Verburg, our resident wheel expert, makes a good point. You may want to ask him to elaborate...regarding your application.

Lots if folks changed t 16s because of tire availability and to provide a bit taller gearing effect (particularly for high speed on the freeway/track). Some like the look of a taller tire. Personally, I like to be able to accelerate better...because i rarely drive that car over 70...and like to get to that speed more quickly.

Wink

Probably not what you're looking for. Middle of off road build...205x75x15 front...225 x 70 x15 rear a/t tires.

I have several hundred photos of my car. From the Pacific to the Atlantic coasts and several tracks.

Unfortunately, those size tires are just not available in a performance tire. I finally gave up on 15s and bought a set of Euromiester 17s. I had the wheels painted to match the car.

I put 15s on my car this summer for this very reason, as I wanted to try the essentially lower gearing (especially in a track setting). I put 245/40R-15 rear, and 205/50R-15 front. I will say the difference is quite noticeable. Everything feels quicker. What you end up with, though, is a pretty low first gear; really good second through fourth, and a top gear that is only good for maybe 120mph @ 6500rpm. For zipping around town, and on a shorter track without long straights, it is a blast. Not sure I will keep it this way all the time, though, because the car sits really low (and I still don't have it as low as I would like). You have to change the ride height significantly each time you go between this configuration and a more standard 16 inch set-up, and therefore corner balance and alignment. While I can corner balance myself, the re-alignment each time is a pain. Still, I am glad I tried this, and will enjoy for a while. Here are a couple of crappy shots from my garage this morning.

Looks like some classic magnesium minilites (or reproductions).

It would be good to have the tire and rim sizes posted. I love 15 inch wheels. Keep the posts coming.

Any 15x9's?

7 & 8's with 7mm spacers have a very similar look to 9's at the rear as most of the added width with the 9's is to the inside of the wheel.

Tyres are N2 P6000's 195/65 and 215/60
