engine build and paint endeavor
Well after the engine drop the CIS came off. This time it was quicker than when I pulled it with the engine in the car.

Well I am going to save pictures of the Cold start and air meter plug. Since I miss labeled it but fixed it. Anyway ... cold start valve plug bluer and on the right of the photo. Tape on harness. The harness gives a clue too as to the directions the wires diverge.

Took off pp today and see the flywheel and clutch disk. New clutch is inthe plan. Does the Flywheel look okay?

Looks good to me, even wear. I would scour it with 3m pads and clean it with brake clean.

Tap in a new main seal as well. Took mine to a local machine shop. $65 ten years ago. Told this before but I said to the shop owner "You have to be careful because there is a step in there". He looked at me straight faced then a little grin appeared, like this ain't my first rodeo.

Well the after look is better, not quite spotless though.
Wonder if more cleaning is worthwhile? Before in the link https://forums.pelicanparts.com/porsche-911-technical-forum/1029960-engine-drop-photo.html ![]() Last edited by mike sampsel; 05-28-2019 at 06:15 AM.. |

Progress, slow but some.
There is a crank under the flywheel. No sign of leaky main seal. Definitely easier to remove FW bolts with impact wrench. ![]() |

Well nearly complete with engine assembly. Coming off the stand and meeting the transmission next week. And it looks like I put my coil up higher than it was before.
Here’s a group of photos of some steps along the way. ![]() |
