What's the secret too getting the nut free in the picture below? This is the bracket that holds the old steel fuel line in the back of the engine. I have put penetrating liquid on it and it still will not budge, I'm afraid I am going to round it off and then really be up a creek without a paddle!! Any help/advice much appreciated.

If I remember well the nut is actually welded to the bracket, so you don't want to turn it. Instead, you want to remove the bolt which has its head facing the front of the car. You can't see it on the picture. You need a tiny ratchet with an Allen bit of the correct size (can't remember, must be 6mm at most). The bolt and black plastic fixture will come off while the metal bracket with welded nut will stay on.

I believe Gilles is correct as far as I recall. IIRC, there is a longish bolt that holds the black plastic bracket in place.

THANK YOU! Will see if I can get a mirror back there again, fist try I could not see anything in the black plastic holder. It’s the only thing remaining from me getting the old lines out. Thanks again!

Isnt this the one that is held in with an allen? If so, one you have the right one, it's pretty easy to remove.

I'm pretty sure it's a 4mm Allen screw. I found it impossible to get. I wound up removing the intake completely, which was a good thing. I replaced a ton of little items while I was in there. See my old post,

Thanks to all, it was indeed a 4mm Allen head bolt on the other side of the weld nut. MANY THANKS!! All the old lies are out, now in with the new Paul Mason lines!!

Bumping this thread -
When comparing 3.2 replacement fuel lines, it looks like Paul Mason's kit shows an additional fuel line (about 12" long or so) compared to Len's (Boxster GT) fuel line kit when looking at photos of both. What is this additional line - from where to where does it go?

![]() We consider this line part of the Chassis, and offer it as a "repair" hose. ![]() My 3.2 "Soft" sets in Post #89 above are considered part of the 3.2 Motor. We are also working on replacement 3.2 "Modular" Fuel Pressure Dampeners and Fuel pressure Regulators, and at a much more reasonable price. The originals from Porsche are now over $600 each. ![]() Doing preliminary testing and installation, and hope to have them available the first of the new year. Thanks Len,
I actually purchased your set of lines (the soft set) about a year or so go, just haven't gotten around to installing them yet (life gets in the way). If the "Chassis repair" line is also needed on a 41 year old car, then I ought to replace that as well.
