Going to replace the front control arm bushings...which ones to get?
The front (and rear I think) control arm bushings are squeaking. Going to replace the front first. However, Pelican has a bunch for sale. Does it make sense to go with the more expensive Elephant Racing ones like this (ER bushings) or some OEM ones from Porsche or the Rennline ones here (Rennline Bushings)? The Rennline and Elephant are similar in price. There are also MUCH cheaper ones.
The car is used for both street and track, but not heavy track use, maybe 2-3 times per year. Suggestions? Thanks! |

Rennline and Elephant certainly have great bushings, and you can't go wrong with them.
If you're on a budget, we recently released an HD version (p/n 901 341 421 02K) of our control arm bushings, which are about 30% more firm than OEM-durometer bushings. These HD bushings require considerable heat (boiling water) and some kind of press arrangement to install, and are definitely not a "slip-fit." They're available from Pelican here: https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/UR90134142102KHD.htm?pn=UR-901-341-421-02KHD&bt=Y&fs=0&SVSVSI=0807 Here's what a couple forum members said about our new HD bushings: Quote:

I've had bad luck with 100% poly (heavy bind + squeak) and Delrin (eventual squeak) on my car, and went back to OE firmness rubber. The higher durometer rubber in theory seems like a good intermediate option.

I recently replaced my 11 year old Poly Bronze with the Elephant Rubber. My car is a 71t that is not heavily modified. I really like the Elephant Rubber.
