Remove Koni Bumpers?

Lowered the '67 911 and looks and drives great. The only problem is that on occasion it sounds like the shock is bottoming out. I asked my mechanic about it and he said he could cut some off the rubber bumpers inside the shocks. He was reluctant to eliminate them because it voids the warrenty. The car as slightly stiffer torsion bars and I would really like to avoid stiffening things up much more. Any thoughts?

Cutting off the bump rubbers will give you a little more travel, but then the suspension stiffness will go through the roof when the car finally does hit them which can cause snap oversteer or understeer depending on which end hits first.

It sounds to me like the car is too low -- which can also cause a number of other geometry issues with the suspension. Is it the front or the rear that you are concerned about bottoming?

Is your objective in lowering the car to improve the cornering grip or improve the appearance?

It is the front that I hear. It makes a pretty solid sound when I hit a good bump in the road. I mostly notice it a slower speeds....
Looks vs performance? Yes I like the look, but only want it lowered to the point that is practical.

If you look under your car; how do the front A-Arms look? (Note the angle of the arms in relation to each other)
