I spoke with Vlad, the designer at Numeric and one thing I like is that they're designing an extender and shift knob for those interested in increasing the length of the throw. A possible additional benefit is that it could bring the knob a little closer to hand as well. I originally bought a longer shift knob for my Wevo for that very reason.

Thanks for the responses by Numeric. It's always good to start the customer service experience out on the right foot prior to the sale.

I don't see enough of a difference currently to make me switch from the Wevo. That said, if I didn't already have a Wevo, I would definitely consider the Numeric for the better value. It's also easier and quicker to remove your current shifter and install the new one immediately, rather than removing your current shifter and waiting for powder coating before installing the new shifter.

The pedals also compare pretty favorably to Rennline and other competitors. Then again, I'm a little biased since they're local to me. :)

Here's a pic with the OEM Shift Boot on to give you guys an idea of what it looks like!

Flojo 03-31-2021 01:54 PM

I see the tip of the lever is blunt and has no kind of thread, neither outer nor inner, correct?
Shift knops must be mounted with a crush insert or via a collar and allen-bold-pin?

If yes, a sadly missing detail, as the WEVO has an inner M6 thread that allows to screw down about any shiftknob that holds an M6 bolt

Is anyone running it without the shift boot? If so, what are you doing with the yellow color pop? Leaving it as is?

The pictured was our prototype, our shift lever has a M5 thread on the top so that other aftermarket shift knobs can be mounted. But most importantly, so can our upcoming shift knob. More details on our shift knob will be posted in the coming weeks! But what we can say, is that we offer short and extended shafts for upcoming knobs.

We decided to change this yellow to a black. No worry about a color pop. The actual product is black. (yellow can be kept if requested, but only for 2mm softer spring option).

Placed my order over the weekend. I am really looking forward to checking this shifter out in person. Well thought out design!

Still waiting for an answer about compatibility with the 914 901 transmission.

Racerbvd 04-06-2021 03:38 PM

Ordered mine today. If I like it, I'll have a Rennshift (901), 2 Wevo (901 & 915) and Haggard for sale.

We are looking and expecting to start shipping out next week! You will get an email confirmation of the tracking number once the label is printed. But, for pre-orders we print the labels before hand so that we can have everything ready so just because you get an email that it has shipped, it doesn't mean it has just yet. Once you see an update on the tracking number, then it has shipped. Just wanted to let you guys know.

The WEVO with a 30% throw reduction is already probably a bit too short. You are guys at 40%? A 915 needs to be shifted more slowly than modern transmissions with Borg-Warner cone synchros. In a race car a 40% shorter throw just makes it easier to shift too fast.

Is there any chance you come out with a longer throw option and I don’t mean a longer shift lever?

One of the things I have always disliked about the improved 915 shifters on the market is the amount the throw is shortened. Why? Not because of the force required to shift gears is increased. It is the fact that the 915 does not do well when shifted too quickly. People, especially when racing, already tend to shift the 915 faster than is ideal. It just gets worse when you shorten the shifting 40%. This is one of the main reasons I went with the JWest Engineering Rennshift. It has options for 33% and 20% shorter throws. I am using 20% and that works great for me.

This is also why I went with the JWest Engineering Rennshift. I am running a MUCH shorter shift lever though (from the pivot to the knob). I am running a raised tunnel and Clint's RSR Shift lever too. I would move to this in a hot minute, if I can determine if their shifter would work with my raised runner, etc. Hmmm

Numeric Racings 996 Turbo stuff is AMAZING! The quality, feel, fit/finish, and longevity is untouchable. Amazing products.

I'm looking forward to receiving mine..

Ordered one a couple weeks back for my rally car. Would prefer a non-truss / weight reduced part. Might run a boot, we’ll see.

See above he said they preprinted the labels. You will get another email when ups picks up.

Also you download the "shop" app that will notify you on the phone when it goes out so you don' t have to go through email to find it.
