Russian clock fitting 911

If any has fitted one. Is it a proper fit without modification.

My brother gave me one of these clocks for my birthday! I really like it! It only works for about 6hours when winded (or at least mine does).

I agree, this would be really neat if installed. My only concern are the lobes on its case. Have you attempted a fit? I don't have my car in the same city to check.

I haven't bought one yet.
If it's a pretty simple fit I will buy one.
Have seen pics with the odd 911 in the cluster

I have one, not mounted. The lobes are about 1/8th” to big. I can’t bring myself to grind the lobes, I’ll probably sell it.

Yes, you really have to be committed to want to install this in the clock hole of your 911.
As mentioned above, the lobes at 4 and 8 o'clock stick out to far to fit in the hole without mods.

Cool though....

This is the aviation clock I'm holding out for to install in my 911:

Lightbulb Removed the case and shoe horned it in.

Pic of the stock case.

The naked clock.

I had a piece of scrap that was a tight fit. I marked the positions of the knobs. And carved out grooves for them.

Clock seated into case.

Tight fit, had to use some force to get it in.

Victory!

Yes it barley fit with some force and finesse. I had to take it out of the original housing and use a thin plastic sleeve with grooves cut out for the knob controls. I also thinned the sleeve at the top to almost nothing, maybe 2mm.

I was able to get it in the hole and then rotate/wiggle it left and right while pushing it in.

I have the same Breitling clock going in our hotrod. We did have to modify the hole to fit correctly. Wish I had a better pic to post.
