Well good news: My stuff was shipped!

news: FedEX brokerage team emailed me a "Customs Importer ID form" to docusign about

Bad news: After mutiple attempts to sign and save, unable to do so (pretty clear I filled it out correctly)

Bad News: Docusign help was no help

Bad News: FedEx Trade Networs Support number had me on hold for 45 minutes and still no reply!

I will not be a happy camper if this continues unresolved for a week or more!

This is a Frustrating issue, with no clear easy contact. Sigh

I had same issues, Fed Ex sent me a Form 5106 needing “another” SSN disclosure then lost the document I signed and properly filed, asked for another one and I became alarmed and said no. They eventually found it and shipment was successful. The requirement to disclose SSN’s for something as mundane as a parcel delivery seems to be extremely intrusive.

I had a very similar issue where i was going crazy, line by line assuming "something" was wrong or missing. Turns out it was the dumbest thing. They want the SS# and phone number formatted as XXXXXXXXX NOT XXX-XX-XXXX. I had "-" in both my SS# and phone number. As soon as I corrected that it went through!

Well, I had my SS# formatted without the dashes, and (on the second document they sent me) it was still a no finish. After I entered the dashes, it finished.

Oh well, strange. I think I'm okay now.

Your SSN is used since you are an importer in the eyes of the Fed’s (Customs). Several times I’ve had to do this. Just another way of making sure the B******s get their unfair share.

Yeah, import tax is no fun. Just thank your lucky stars your import tax isn’t 368% like Taiwan! I’m not kidding.
