I got a printer recently and have been turning my center console/casette holder into a phone mount. Hoping to incorporate a wireless charger while rerouting the fan controls.

I just scrolled through all 13 pages of this thread and loved it - do you think that this topic could merit another subsection on Pelican? ie 911 technical advice; 911 turbocharging supercharging; 3D printing discussion

As the database of available projects grows and more people enter the hobby, I think it would be valuable to search "phone mount" or other such projects!

Sorry for the delay in replying...but the trick was to make each rib on the hose have enough "S" shape to it to allow the offside ribs to separate and get bigger, the nearside ones enough spacing to allow them to compress.



All I did was make the shape above in Sketch and then rotate 360 degrees over the central axis.

I printed in TPU vertically so no support was necessary, the top end was wiggling enough to make it a little stringy at the top, but perfectly serviceable. A shorter pipe would be much better in that regard.

I decided to install an AFR gauge and new sensor in the car.

Looked at mounting options and decided that big hole in the center console was the best place. Spent some time in the car getting measurements and a bit on CAD and out comes a printed part.

Top 2 holes are for the AC controls, middle switch is for the power antenna. I want to be able to leave the antenna down when using bluetooth or USB.

I added a voltmeter with USB charging ports on the bottom.

Next up is to disconnect the old panel and install the AFR sensor and run the wiring.

I got the X1C, mainly for car parts and maybe RC planes.
I took an available twist on funnel design for long hoods and modified it to fit mid year and later impact bumper cars. I had to make a couple versions with different length necks because not all oil tank fill tubes are the same length.



Other projects I have in mind are
1. to modify my HVAC controls to electric servo driven and cleaning up airflow/mixture - an idea I got from Mr. Smallwood
2. a custom mounting plate for the EFI Hardware DBW servo.

3. I also have a 964 plenum I might adapt to fit on my ITBs but that can wait. The Theon BEL001 has inspired a long term project that needs some serious thought and analysis.

Since our driving season is over, I haven't had a chance to go visit any of my 3.2 Carrera friends to try it for size. When I was modifying the original design, I thought the OEM Carrera snorkel might get in the way of the rotation to lock it on the collar.

Sorry I missed this-

the answer is not yet. My printer is was not big enough and also dissolvable supports would make it much easier as getting to the inside is not easy. I picked up a multi head large printer (supposedly for work....) and am finally have time to set that up. The design needs more work to fit my application so I'll need to re-draw with compound curves to get the path right. Still in progress but will be taking more time for sure.

In the mean time I have done some simple stuff and got the canister mounted on my 964.








This one took some trial and error. It's a block off for the power steering pump assembly when deleting the pump in favor or an electric pump or in this case a manual rack.

Awesome stuff! I got an Einstar 3D scanner on Cyber Monday... looking forward to using it for some 3D work on my car.

Not that I needed a scanner for this, but much like eflight I'm looking to repurpose my center console. I plan to modify a wireless charger/phone mount into my center console. My goal is to set my phone down, have it magnetically secured, while charging and showing directions/providing bluetooth tunes.

I cant remember if this has been posted already but if not, here goes. A-arm bushing installation tool.

Works for all 911s and 912s thru 1989. Should also work on 914 front suspensions. Large tool is to drive the bushing onto the arm. Small tool is a pilot for installing the bushing on the rear of the arm, in conjunction with the large tool.

Print in FDM in any rigid filament at 100% infill for maximum strength. PLA works just fine. Print with any of the circular faces on the build plate.

I imagine SLA will work just fine since you are using this tool in compression. And if it breaks, just print another!

Those look fantastic Marc, I could really use them both since I have a seized 964 gearbox and a reflector with broken off attachment points.

Could you please share the models or tell us where we can find them?

I noted the funnel posted previously and got a little bored....so made this version in light of my engine going in and needing a few oil changes during breakin.

I wanted it solidly on, hence the threaded collar that goes on the oil tank threads, holding the whole shebang solidly in place






This is the mockup, but the final version will be in PETG and has a hole for hanging on the wall. Didn't want to clean it every time, so I made this little TPU plug for the bottom. Seems like a good seal plus TPU is oil resistant, so even if a little hangs in there, not an issue.

I know a lot of owners curse at putting oil in their cars due to the foolish placement of that filler spout, particulalry when adding oil after a change and using gallon containers.

I am tempted to try and sell them.....it took a few days of design and a few trials...think anyone would buy one?

Nice design, well thought out. If you want to hang it up, a top cap to keep dirt and bugs out would be helpful.
