The Dual Extruder printers interest me, but I wonder if two filaments compromises the strength of the final product.

What size platform is ideal? Too often I want to print something only to find out I’m 1 cm short on my bed.

I’m looking for something that I can use to make small parts like the 915 tranny shift fork locator et and plugs for casting small parts. Looked at the ender creality 3, 3s1 et.

Just printed those door striker pieces on my credulity 3d cr10 mini. I am however far from a pro.

I started with an Ender3 then slowly upgraded a few bits. The one big one is the hot end so that I could print using ASA material. ASA will withstand the sun and heat of the car. There are guys that have printed intakes with this material. The direct drive hot end also allows you to print using TPU flexible material for grommets and such.

Nice! What settings did you use?
Also - strongly recommend carbon reinforced PLA but it's really hard on your tips and so if you do go carbon, grab an extra bag of tips.

For general parts prototyping what size bed is recommended? Will a small 180x180cm bed work?

Yeah this works fine and if you're doing much larger parts, you just cut them up in fusion and add keying to the parts to align them when rebuilding the printed parts.

What did you print the control arm removal tool with?

Can you post a link to those cup holders please?

I printed them in PLA at 100% fill. Then sanded the conical section to help the bushing ride over it.

You can see just the edge of the conical tool inside the bushing.

I admit I don’t know where I’m looking

Elephant racing supply two bushing tools with their control arm bushings. One is conical and goes in the end of the control arm to help the bushing expand and slide on. The other maintains the proper depth of the bushing in the outer cylinder.

In the picture I posted, the conical tool is inside the bushing being installed on the left side of the photo. You can just see a thin white circle on the inside of the bushing. The white part between the bushing the clamp on the left side of the picture is the other part of the installation tool.

Piston oil squirter test tool. It is a bit distorted in the picture, sat it down next to a hot item and the printer needs a tune up, not a great print but it works.

Shift knob stand and installation tool, when using a new shift knob crush sleave it is a bit hard to push on. Put tool on top of the knob and lightly tap on with a hammer.

I have an Creality Ender 5 Plus, picked for its print bed size 350 mm x 350 mm, good community support and upgrade parts availability. In the process of adding a Mosquito clone hot end and an enclosure to be able to print ASA and PA CF. I bought it to develop some commercial parts to be printed on commercial printers and also a little give back to the community, the tools. Sometimes it is hard to get some time on the printer at home, seems to be too many colorful MCM plant pots being printed. Hence my multi color cylinder hold down Fuch nuts.
