Red face Zenith Broken Enrichment Solenoid

While disassembling our Zenith 40 TIN carburetors, this part snapped off. I believe it is the enrichment solenoid. So now I've got this tube sticking out and no way to get the brass threaded portion out of the body.

Is that pipe something that can be sacrificed? Meaning can I cut it out so that I can try to extract the brass portion from the body and get a replacement for it? My guess is it is only retained by the brass, but that is only a guess.

I see the solenoid and a gasket in a Zenith manual. I'm not seeing that pipe though. So I don't know if it's even available to replace.

I will double check my spare set that already has the enrichment removed. I'm pretty sure it just gets plugged.

Thanks for checking. Does that mean that black tube is captured by the brass ring? I can drill it out and won't have damaged something permanently attached to the carb body?

@proporsche Could you please share a photo of the end that inserts into the carburetor? I'm trying to confirm whether the black tube is part of the carb or the solenoid. Thanks.

Cut the tube flush and seal the area with JB weld or something. You don't need that thing.

I was able to find a photo of the cavity with it removed. Gave me the confidence to pull it out. The tube wasn't even captured. I was able to remove it by pulling, while the brass part was still screwed in. I was able to remove the brass with some finesse and a bolt extractor. All good now. Thanks for the info.
