Help with identifying tool roll

I could really use some help with identifying what car this tool roll came from.

Thanks!

I bought one on ebay for my new to me 83 SC. It looks like mine minus the perforations. It supposedly fits 78-89.

i`d say this is not a 911 tool kit most likely 924 or 944 or even 928

It's actually a really odd kit. Doesn't have any of the critical tools needed for a 911 (like the fan pulley wrenches). Pliers and spark plug wrench look correct (but not sure for what years). That middle tube I think is normally only on 1987-1989 911's.

The 914 tool kits are really bare-bones, this is even less useful than those. Curious where it comes from.

Mark

Thanks for lead! The leather tool roll looks the same but the tools are a little different. I'll keep looking for an exact match. It was a tool roll kit my dad got a long time ago. He worked in the auto industry his whole life. He said it was from a 911. I spent some time looking at Porsches on Bring a Trailer last night and didn't see any with the same toll roll.

Just looked at this 1988 Porsche 944 on Bring a Trailer and it's tool roll. The tools in the roll are different from the tools in my roll.

I think you are on the right track, but a bit older - 924 instead of 944. I recall that at least some (if not all) of the 924 kits were in brown while the 944 kits were black.

For example: https://www.gumtree.com/p/car-replacement-parts/porsche-924-924s-tool-kit/1442600628

Btw, one could see right off that it wasn't a 911 kit because as far as I know all of those include a spare fan belt and the fan spanner wrench.

The link you sent looks like a solid lead. I looked up this 1988 Porsche 924S and the tool kit still looks different. The one I have has the shorter sparkplug wrench. That's why I'm thinking 911 possibly?

I saw an early Subaru toolkit looking exactly like that. Just a clue in your search...

There are a lot of folks here that have had a lot of 911s. I think it is wistful thinking.

It looks most like the 944 kit. Why not post it on the 924/944/968 Technical Forum and ask the same?
