Got Me Some Cookies!

Two of them have the Porsche number 911 361 023 54



Two have the number 911 361 023 54R


They all say 7J 15 H2.

Three say ATS on them, one does not but says ALG on it.

My question is what does the “R” after 54 mean in the second number? Rear? Right? Nothing?

Found no info on Google.

Let the tire shopping begin!

Came with old 225/50 15 Kuhmo’s compared to my Fuchs with 205/55 16 Michelins


The 15 Cookies with 225/50 measured roughly 23 1/4 inches. The 16 Fuchs with 205/55 were roughly 24 3/4 inches.

Wanted to see how 225/50s looked.

Love the wheels. Hate the 225/50s. I realize they are too wide up front but Im just checking height for now. I think I will put all four on and go for a short slow drive. I know the car can be lowered but I would prefer a taller tire.

As for the wheel part number,
I know that the very last set of numbers are iterations of the original part number as manufacturing process and/or materials evolve or changed whereas the last set of numbers like -01 succeeds 00, and 02, 03, 04 etc afterwards are the latest versions. In the PET there are not many letter designations used (maybe 2 or 3) at the end of part numbers.
Not sure about offsets or if the R has any relevance to an offset or if thats perhaps a 944 wheel designation. Offset can be easily determined.
That one wheel ALG could be a random supplier Porsche contracted if ATS for some reason couldn’t fulfill the orders. I guess some work would be needed to research Porsche wheel suppliers and date codes to verify/authenticate the odd wheel stamping.

I was never able to determine if Porsche would ordinarily put a set wheels using all the same date codes on a car. I have one odd date code Fuch from but suspect this was a replacement wheel from a pothole impact and new tire.

Seems to have settled a bit after 5 minute drive. I don’t race the car so will be looking for taller tire options.

Found an old post on Samba. He refers to the “R” code as a “deep cookie cutter”.
So maybe they go on the rears? All four look the same to my eye but I will take some measurements.

Haha my badass days are over. The cookies are a nice change from the everyday Fuchs and I can always swap them back in if I get tired of looking at these. While I can live with the 225/50 size I would prefer something taller.

And don’t worry, fixing/replacing the crushed rockers is on my to-do list.

Those wheels look awesome! I agree the tires are a bit wide but overall the whole care still looks awesome. Thank you for sharing!

funracer -- you should feel a pretty nice seat of the pants acceleration increase with the shorter tires.

I have been test driving the old 225/50’s that the wheels came with. They are dated 2009! Just around the neighborhood. There is a a bit of a torque bump.

But to be honest not enough for me to want to use that size again. I’ve never been in to the squat look for tires on vintage iron. Always hated resto-modded corvettes and Chevys with big wheels and low profile tires. Just doesn’t look right. Love that tall rubber!

Keep in mind I don’t track my car. It falls into the “occasional spirited drive” category.

Spent a lot of time on Tirerack.com and looking at a tire size calculator today. I have 15x7 ATS Cookie cutters front and rear. Looked at dozens of options up and down the scale.

Little choice with 195/65 15 and 215/60 15. Only 3 to choose from and none to my liking.

By far the most choice is 195/65 15 and 205/65 15:


This combination yields about 20 offerings from Tirerack in the H speed category (130mph). No racing tires or extreme performance options, but I don’t need them.

The Vredesteins in this size 195/65 15 front and 205/65 15 rear look the best to me.

Two questions:

1. Will both these sizes work on a 7 inch wide wheel?
2. Would I be better off just getting 205/65 all around?

Have you considered Pirelli P6000 in 195/65 on 7s all around? I ran that combo on 15x7 Fuchs all around until very recently.

Yes. They are expensive. But worse than that the reviews are not good. Hard to spend double the money for less. Vredestein reviews are really good.

Considered a 205/50 Pirelli P7, or Pirelli CN36 in 185/70 (a stretch) or 215/60 (not a stretch) Avon CR6ZZ in 185/70 or 215/60? The P7s, CN36s and the P6000s are recommended by Porsche Classic, and the Avons have their fans as well.

I cant justify the price of Avon or Pirelli tires. Nearly $500 per tire vs $120 for Vredestein. For a car I drive 500 miles per year tires will likely time out before they tread out.

On my Cookies I have a set of General Grabber AT2 knobbies in a 205/75R-15.


3-1/2 turns in on the front ride height adjustment for more clearance and you have yourself some seriously silly fun in marginal traction situations. The greatly increased slip angle with the knobby styled tread means the car doesn't slam into the sidewalls but instead it moves all over and you more of "influence" the direction by moving the whole car's angle back and forth!


Here is what it looked like quite a while ago before a lot of the lighting was upgraded to LED. (About 1100 watts aimed forwards.)


This combo also has the added bonus of pissing off some Porsche purists!!
(It is a really is a giggle to drive and it seriously helps keep your hands quick if you push the car on asphalt as you completely have to drive the rotation of the car instead of just rotating the steering wheel.)
