Weird no start issue - runs briefly with fuel pump fuse out
I have a no start issue with my '86 Carrera. Engine turns over fine. Swapped DMEs and no change. I can smell fuel so I check for spark next. I removed the fuel pump fuse and pull one of the plugs and ground it. Then turn the engine over and it runs for about 10 seconds until I presume there is no fuel left in the lines. Weird.
I plug the fuse back in and no start. So I decide to remove the fuel pump fuse again and crank it. Lo and behold it runs again for a few seconds. I feel the answer is simple but I can't see what problem is causing this. Any help greatly appreciated.

Ha ha! Phew! Thanks for the help. The head temp connector was literally falling off and not connected. Fired right up. Do you think the plugs will clear by themselves with spirited driving or should I pull the plugs?
