911SC Brake Light Stops Working w/Lights On
Good afternoon from Germany,
When I apply my brakes, the brake lights work fine except the drivers is very dim. When I turn on the lights, the drivers brake light stops working, and the passenger brake light gets very bright. The reverse lights do not work at all no matter what. Everything else seems ok. I did not see any blown fuses in the front. I researched a couple of threads with similar issues resolved by checking the bulb tines in the bulb housing, but that has not worked. This is a link to the youtube video showing my issue. https://youtube.com/shorts/U8Za0nKMZlc?si=cf1EymddWAy9tlkN Any help is very appreciated! I only have 3 weeks left to fix this and get my car inspected for the military while stationed overseas. |

The reverse lights and brake lights are separate circuits, but have common grounds through the tail light bucket. The general rule when having problems with brake and signal lights is to remove the buckets and make damn sure the light bulb sockets are clean and tight, and the grounds are clean and have no resistance back to the chassis. Do that first, then report your results.
No reverse lights most likely is caused by a bad connection at the switch on the front of the transmission, or a bad switch. Have you removed or messed with the tail light buckets recently?

Would a mod please remove this thread? It was a duplicate by mistake when I was trying to upload from my government computer and thought it got stuck in submission. Thank you.
