74 Carerra Targa BlackBlue interior

Has anyone purchased blackblue interior vinyl from Lakewell? Does this match the original blackblue door panels in the used in the 74's Carrera's? Lakewell lists it as vinyl pigskin blackblue. I have been looking for a source for this material for years and this is the first I have seen.

Look at post #120 in this thread. Classic 9 did the seats for my buddy.

Have you looked at Justin Placek? He has a pigskin that may be exactly what you’re looking for - pigskin texture and dark blue. Also both Lakewell and JP will send samples but shipping isn’t free. I’ve purchased the Pigskin Cinnamon & matching Jubilee tweed fabric from both and these were the only two vendors that had the right texture and color for the vinyl. They were both great to work with.

I purchased black blue pigskin seat covers from Lakewell for my ‘74 Targa about 18 months ago and had Autos International install them. They are pretty close to the original material but it’s hard to say if it’s exact. I’m sure there’s some fading on my original rear seat pads and door cards. I have been really happy with the covers and final look. I’ll post some pictures in the next few days.

Hey digdug, I had Wouter at Lakewell send samples of the BlackBlue/Midnight vinyl for my '74 Carrera. The blue pigskin as well as the black vinyl (for the door pockets) appears to be pretty damn close in both color and texture as far as I can tell...definitely the closest I've ever seen. I just ordered new doors panels (bad '80s aftermarket separate speakers installed by P.O.), pockets, and a full carpet kit from them. Should be here late next week. I'll report back.

Received the following from Lakewell

Hi Doug

We have the correct Porsche 'pigskin' vinyl in BlackBlue as original for 911 '74-76. Picture attached. Price of this material is EUR 78/mē.

If you let me know how much you need and provide me your shipping address I make you an exact quotation.

Kind regards,

Another question. What was covered in BlackBlue. I know door panels and the quarter panels. Anything else? Were the quarter panels pleated or smooth for a 74. My car had lots of later year parts in it and I'm trying to build it as close to stock as I can.

I would reference cars that are still original. These 2 BaT auctions show the blue/black interiors well. Picture 125 on the yellow car shows the rear parcel shelf well. Looks like black on the parcel shelf but blue/black directly behind the rear seat back.

Resurrecting this. Any feedback on the lakewell material. Thinking of re-doing my seats to proper.

I bought the lakewell door panels, rear quarters, material for redoing my back shelf and lots of other interior parts. It looks great and just like the original. If you order from them I would suggest emailing them as not all the parts they can do in blackblue pigskin are on the website. All prices are in euros and the exchange rate is good right now. Get your order in before August 1 before any tariffs kick in. Shipping was via fedex and my order was at my house in under three weeks. Very impressed.
