Never heard of a 944 5 spoke Fuch w/ a width of 9" all 9x16, 5 spoke Fuchs are ET15, They were originally used on 930s Proporsche's very nice red 911 is quite low and I suspect that several of the steps I outlined above have been implemented to achieve a trouble free fit. The OP's white car appears to have Fuch 7 x16 ET23.3, so to reiterate, the 944 8 ET23.3 makes any tire fit worse. While I like and use 8s on my very low 911, I use a wheel w/ a bigger ET, 8 ET27 or 28 is the best compromise between fit on the inside and outside w/ 8's If a 7 is used ET24 -26 would be preferred to avoid the fitment issues discussed here. But if you want to use Fuchs you are stock w/ 6 ET36 or 7 ET23.3 available in 15 or 16 or 8 ET 23.3 available only in 16 There are 2 different 7 x16 ET23.3, a 911 part # and a 944 part #, They both fit exactly the same, the 944 version just has more caliper clearance and can be identified easily by the recessed lug holes on the front.

The 205/55 makes it more challenging and can vary quite a bit with tire choice as already mentioned. I'm dealing with Pirelli P Zero on 15X7 Fuchs on my friend's 85. The 55 looks great but requires the car to be higher, significant negative front end camber, and rolled fenders edges.
MY 75 is about as low as you can get and I can still drive it practically without bottoming out on dips and obstacles - well except for that one huge rock that was hiding in the shadows! The 205/50 on a 15X6 looks pretty good albeit a bit small, but no rubbing and extremely low. I run three different tires and none of them catch the edge, even with my 245lb body weighing down the driver's side. For the OP, I'd warm up the paint with a blow dryer or very carefully with a heat gun (far) and roll the edge with a bat, then I would raise the front maybe 1/2 turn on the height adjusters. That edge needs to be, at a minimum, rolled back to the stock height or say goodbye to that tire. It will keep catching that lip as noted. You can see the transition point where I rolled it in this shot on my 75 ![]()

205/55 on 6 x16ET36 has a tire front space of ~71mm compared to 7ET23.3 w/ a tire f/s of ~83mm much more lip room The reason that performance minded folks want to use the 7 is performance, the tire works much better on the 7 and the track is a bit wider which is also good 205/50 on the 7 is shorter and gives much more room than the 205/55, my favorite 7 & 8 x16 Fuch fitment is 205/50 and 225/45
