Engine backfire issue.

Hello Todd here. I’m new to the forum. All of the information here is extremely helpful while getting to know my new Porsche I recently purchased the car I dreamed about as a kid, a black 1984 911 Targa. The engine, ignition, and fuel system all seem to be stock with the exception of an aftermarket air filter. I’ve attached a few pictures. I’m experiencing what I believe to be an ignition or fuel problem. The car starts and runs perfectly at cold start. After about an hour of driving and reaching operating temp I start to have issues. When at idle, the car will start to backfire and lose throttle response. The engine eventually cuts off and is difficult to restart, when it does restart, it will continue to backfire with almost no throttle response, but I have been able to get it safely off the road. This has happened twice in both instances. I let the car sit overnight. Return the next morning and it starts perfectly at cold start and I can drive it home. If anyone has experienced a similar problem I’d greatly appreciate reading a thread on this and any recommendations on parts to purchase here at Pelican. Thanks so much.
