Shawn,
I see now from the picture of the speedster in the sunlight that it's the same color as the Targa. Sea/Seafoam Green. I've heard the color called Seafoam but when I looked in Peter Morgans book Original 911 he lists a "Sea Green" as an optional color for 68'. Probably the same thing like, Tangerine=Blood Orange, Irish=Velvet Green, etc. Since your into outlaws how about this Drauz Convertible. dd74 you asked for Yellow?

dd74,
I think it's Champagne Yellow. Do you have a paint tag?

Sorry I'm late. You bet, that early 911R yellow is the ticket. Also signal yellow and light Ivory. At this point, I'd take any color just to get my hulk out of the garage! No light at the end of this tunnel--anybody got a cheap daily driver for sale so I can stand the wait?

Although not 911's, this shot gives a sample of most of the colors. It's from the Lone Star Regio site.

Your car is probably Lite Yellow like the car in Pauls' picture because Lite Yellow is listed as a 74' color whereas Champagne isn't. The car in my picture I think might be Champagne Yellow. It's slightly whiter. Lite Yellow wasn't offered until 71' and the car I posted looks like it might be a 69'. (push button door handle, 5.5 fuch up front) It has large durant mirrors however (70/71') but they might be replacements. Besides, colors fade so who knows?

OK, question about Signal Orange, Ive seen a couple different pictures of cars in which people claimed them as Signal Orange, but the cars were different colors. In that 914 picture, starting at the top right, 2nd and 7th car down is one shade of Orange, and 12 and 17 are another. Which one is it?

Of course I'm partial to a bright yellow, ("med geld" as the book called it)
But I really love that Lime Green! Colors like those seperate 911s from the masses of the "gold chainers" who bought their Porsches as rolling advertisements for their wealth and obvious pedigree, but always chose the "safe" colors, Black, Silver, White, and of course, 'Guards Red'! Not that I don't like a silver or black 911 in the right hands! (Although I am still biased against guards red 911s, sorry!)

Also side note - Kyle's car is a 1960 Roadster, often confused with a Speedster. and as a self promoting plug, this beautiful orange one is still for sale....

12 and 17 look like it to me. Although a lot of the 914 colors were slightly different and had different names. Mark, You probably took the photo of the Targa because I didn't. By the way that 68' is a beautiful car.

I really like the groovey colors also.
Signal Yellow and red are great - gulf blue - viper green. I would love to have an S in one of these colors. They really look like sports cars / exotica in these colors Silver ALWAYS looks the classiest.
