To get the special parking you must arrive at the same time, meet at a motel and caravan to the swap.

With the weather this nice, I wish I could drive the 911, but I need room for some larger parts (Muffler, tail, etc) and my wife.
I'll be in a dark blue Audi A4 with a "Porsche Support Vehicle" sticker on the back. In case you fly past me on the turnpike. See you guys there. Noel

I am looking forward to seeing all you guys at the Bear's Den tomorrow night. It was great meeting all of you last year. I was sorry to read that Jim and Lou will not be joining us tomorrow night. Hope to see them at the swap meet on Saturday. Steve

Ahh D___ It!!
The tranny in my car is leaking too much fluid to make the trip and it is going to cost too much to get it fixed so I have to cancel to save money to make the repair. I am so disappointed that I won't be able to make the trip. hopefully next year.
Mike

i called the bears den this afternoon.......basically they will not take reservations....so whomever gets there first say that you are part of the "pelican parts group" and there will be about 20 of us, they said to tell the hostess when we get there and they will do their best to accomodate us by getting tables moved together.......just make sure we don't get stuck in the "monkey bars" (the seating area with the railings) it's just too difficult to move around in that spot.
i'm hoping to be there by 6pm but you never know...... my stubby cb antenne makes my 911 look like a remote control car ![]() see you guys in the morning

I attended last year, had a great time despite the rain!
I have a set of Tan power seats from a 84-87 Carrera as well as some door/rocker panel parts for a 356 (given to me by a friend..no clue what they truly are ..or what they are worth.) What is the best way to sell these at Hershey,? Can we get close enough to carry them in and have a vendor sell them for a percentage? Are there hotel swaps the night before? Thanks

Well,
I was all ready to drive to Hershey, PA to attend the Swap Meet, along with "Bell" and a few others. Last Sunday, I got sick and had a fever, abdominal pain, etc... and went to my Dr on Tuesday (yes, I was in "denial") and found out I had a ruptured appendix. I'm a former Navy Hospital Corpsman and Paramedic, so I knew darn well what I had, but I couldn't bear the thought of missing the swap meet. Now, all of my "buddies" are in Daytona or Hershey and I am taking pain meds and antibiotics at home. Word of advice, if you have severe abdominal pain and a fever, don't ignore it! We don't ignore things that go wrong with our cars, but sometimes we procrastinate on health matters. Fortunately I had an excellent surgeon and great nursing staff, so I'll be back in the driver's seat soon. Right now climbing stairs is a challenge!!

"along with "Bell" and a few others" means a really nice time. got home with Overpaid Slacker/ JP a short time ago. It was great meeting a bunch of Pelicanheads today because the big meet was relatively low key. No bumping into people at max volume... So not being so hectic allowed good hanging out with other pelicanheads.. perfect. We are very happy to hear you're on the mend ... there will be another "Hershey" next year. If our paths haven't crossed before then, we'll meet you there. And don't worry, there were only a couple of Porsches there this year.

Well, I sold all my stuff.
Let me tell you, my faith in the decency of mankind was reaffirmed today. The four guys that I met as purchasers of my stuff at Hershey (you guys know who you are) were some of the most polite, enthusiastic gentlemen I've ever run into. Bravo to you guys. and p.s., thanks for the Bourbon Tom!

Well this year was my second time at Hershey and my first time selling which meant that I was pretty much tied to my spot. I did get to meet RoninLB, David914 and a few others and had a great time overall. It was a nice chance to spend some quality time with my brother, tmsoko, who lives outside Detroit. I sold what I needed to sell and bought a bunch of parts I needed for my Targa project. I also brought back a serious case of sunburn LOL.
I think next year the wife and I might drive up in the '66 and make a 4 day weekend out of it. She's a big fan of 356 Coupes and there where a bunch of nice ones from what I could see. I thought the buyers this year were all very nice if not a little shy. They'd ask me my price and I'd give it to them along with "I'm negotiable and you can't hurt my feelings" but many just wouldn't counter offer. In the end that was their loss because I sold most of my stuff. I even split up my Targa interior for a gentleman who just wanted the Recaros for his 968 (it was a tight fit getting them into the back of his car) I sold them and my 7 and 8 Fuchs repros for my very bottom dollar, hell the wheels went for just a little over the cost of the tires. I have few misc parts I'll probably take to Stoddard in June. Anyway, enough rambling, I had a great time despite not getting a chacne to meet up with the group. I promise next year I'll be buying only so I can meet with you guys. Now where's that aloe vera? ouch!

It was good to see everyone - Bell good luck with your new parcel box, Cramer and JP, see you guys in a few weeks at the hanger, it was a low key year but a good one. Thanks to Steve T. and Gus and Bill for watching/bringing/selling my extra stuff - when I see you guys in S. the beers are on me!

A Quiet Boom,
did you see the guy with the '65 911. What a sight, expecially the side mirrors mounted on the fenders.
