Pics of Aussie ST's from back in the day
My mechanic found these pics - 2 ST's that used to race in Australia in the early 70's
I think the first pic is from Bathurst and the second from Warwick Farm. The hand beaten flares are pretty cool...

JP, If we have anything like Laguna's Corkscrew then the "Skyline" section of Bathurst race track is it. Bathurst is only open as a race track once (maybe twice) a year for a 600 mile race. The rest of the year it's public road. It's been an anual event for 40 odd years.

I'll ask if there are any more when I'm next at the shop.
p.s. i've driven the bathurst circuit (as a public road) and the descent when you come done skyline is steep as hell - much more than it looks on tv

The top photo is Jim McKeown leading Alec Mildren (I think?) down through the esses at Bathurst during the Easter meeting approx 1971. This was one of the highlight meetings of the year, at the time! The second photo looks like it is Mildren again this time at the no longer used Warwick Farm.
Warwick Farm was situated on the property of a horse racing track, just out of Sydney, which is still in use today,When it was used for cars ,the Farm was one of Australia's premier circuits. It hosted races for the Austalian Touring Car Championship, the Tasman Cup, Gold Star and Sports Car Championship. These events wrere during the late sixties and early seventies! Regards Mike

Guys I think I have made a mistake, the Chesterfield car, after thinking about it today, was owned by Alec Mildren and driven by Brian Foley. This combination continued into the '70's with Alfa's, with good success over a number of years!
