The Cayman is the first new Porsche I've actually found to be attractive since the putative demise of the 911 in 1998.
yeah, I was stoked about the Boxster before it "came out" too.

i was totally expecting a club-sport car. What did we get? .. a bloated Barbie-mobile. (with cup-holder . . .oooh)

Why should this Cayman be different?

I think it comes down to everyones personal taste. The Cayman to me looks like a "vintage" 904 in 2006 clothing. Mid engined, and not a rag top/T-top. More of a drivers car, no rear seats. I love the fact it is a coupe. I think the car looks great and will be a great seller. It's funny how people complained about the 997 VW bug headlights when it first came out, now you do not hear that. Kinda like the front "bug" fog lights on the Cayman. I think a stripped down version would be great, but I like to have A/C.... I'm fortunate to have a track only car. The A/C is a must for those spontaneous Las Vegas trips.
Everyone has an opinion. The wise thing to do is buy a car for yourself, and not for what other people think. Whatever makes you happy, and the pocket book can afford is my motto.
