A '74 targa is nice.

Clarence - how's that Supertec-prepped "super" 3.0 running in Vegas. According to Henry, you're supposed to have something like 230 - 240 hp coming out of that thing.
Is there more power in it now that you're not in the high altitude of New Mexico? Is it stronger? |

It is still in my garage in Albuquerque. I am renting an apartment here and will not bring it down till I can get a house with a garage to keep it in. I am up there a couple of times a month and take it out. It still runs great!
I still have not had it on a dyno, but It certainly feels like it has that much HP. As far as I am concerned...if Henry says it...it is so. IMHO, he is the best. It is a lot faster than any of my friends' 200+ Hp cars...but it is also lighter. I am a bit concerned that it will not pass emissions here in NV. It was exempt in NM. I have been gathering up A/C parts for it. I will probably bring it out to CA (where all the early Porsche expertise seem to reside) this fall/winter to get someone to install it for me...as I have no time with my new job. maybe get some suspension work done too. We can hook up and you can drive it if you like. See what the butt dyno says. I also got some 7"x15' fuchs...but they are still sitting in the garage waiting for me to find some time. I replaced the aftermarket mirrors with the chrome ones from '74 (after the picture shown). I like that look better. I have a nos set of the chrome headlight rings I am considering puting on too....

Yeah - I'd put the chrome on as well. That and the small bumperettes really set the '74 from the other middle years, particularly the SC and Carrera.
And yes, I'd like to give yours a spin and get your opinion of mine. We'll do a Mulholland run to Malibu or something. Maybe we'll hook up with your pal, Techweenie. He lives out that direction... BTW: Henry doesn't sell a bad "stock" motor, either - I should know. Did you hear he moved to San Diego? He bought a friggin' farm. He only has to walk 100 feet or so to his shop, which I'm assuming is a barn.

Yes...since Henry's reputation gets engines sent to him from all over the world...he really didn't need to spent the money on leasing fancy real estate in Costa Mesa...I have not been back out to visit, but I will probably try to stop by when I am out that way.
I know! Your comments about you engine helped sell me on Henry/Supertec. I have never regretted dealing with him. If he doesn't have a lot of engine work when I come out, I will try to get him to do some of the work I need. His techs are pros and just all-around good guys. If not, perhaps I can get the TRE guys to set up my suspension. I have some new shocks (still in the box) and would like to go the elephant racing polybronze route. Based on what I have seen here at PP, TRE is certainly top notch too.

Wow, I go away for a long weekend and look what I find upon my return...another mid-year thread. Excellent!!! Mojo, the guys that have mid-year cars love'em. And there sure are some fine examples posted here.
Adam...man, that's a gorgeous car. Gumba, your car is sweet as well. Gotta love Sebring's white car, too. Guess I'm partial to white. Here's why! While this isn't quite in the same league as some of the others pictured here, it is mine. It is not a real turbo, just has a wide body conversion.

Narrow bodies do give a nice "retro" look to a P-car.
Here is my 77.
