Using Center cap for Momo Wheel.

I just installed a Momo Millenieum(sp) steering wheel and am considering using a Porsche center cap (pic below) as part of the horn button.

any suggestions how I may go about doing this.

There is a Momo horn button w/the Porsche crest. I have one on my Momo Corse. Can't remember where I got it. Maybe someone else will know about them.

Well, I never had a fancy crest horn button with my Momo/Sparco wheels. I'd say it's better than looking at a "MOMO" horn button all the time though. How about something like a subdued/monotone crest?

AFIK...Porsche asked MOMO to stop using the P-car logo. You can find them on ebay but they are pricey.

When I first put my car together I used a Grant wheel that I painted in wrinkle paint. I used a center cap from my old chrome hubcaps, sandblasted the chrome off the center cap and polished the brass, and painted the background. Then I mounted it to the Grant horn button. I've gone through about three other wheels since then...

Here's the steering wheel I installed. I just think the the crest would look good right there in the center.

Carl--
The ring-type center caps are actually 2 pieces - the crest and the mounting ring. If you separate them, the crest part may work like you want. I may have a beat up center cap for you to experiment.

I like project 911's solution for his wheel - I have several of these available:

__________

I may take you up on that Jimmy.

BTW, Haven't had a chance to load those pics. I wasn't able to access online the past couple of days. Damn ComCast. If they weren't the only Broadband provider in my area I would have gone to a competitor. I guess I'll have to burn another copy on a CD and post the pics at work.

You can get the Porsche crest Momo horn buttons from FVD for around $40 new.

I know it;s an old thread, but I had to give some Kudos to Project911 and his wheel. That, in my op, is one of teh nicest I have seen. I think I like most that it is not another Momo - nothing against Momo mind you - just nice to see something different. Nicely done!

Hey thanks for that. Something about black wrinkle paint that makes everything look like World War II bomber parts or something. I got a lot of mileage out of those old center caps. I sawed out the crest from one and made a pin for my jacket, and used two of them on my door panels.
The wheel looked pretty good, but was a little small as I remember. I did end up with a MOMO "style" wheel with suede covering that I really like.

Here's another shot of the old one.

I sold my old one when I changed to a momo wheel on eBay for around $60. Funny thing is there where ones selling brand new there for around $40. Despite not being available through legitimate sources, the Porsche crest is still available. IMHO the crest your showing above is too big for the wheel.
