Can any shop do a toe alignment after new steering rack? (GOOD LINK)
(I will try this again - my last post didn't seem to make it!)
I just replaced my steering rack and tie rods. I assume my toe alignment is a bit out of wack now (even though I tried to keep all dimensions the same). My camber should be untouched. I don't want to have to drive 38 miles (each way!) to TRE for another alignment (they lowered, corner balanced, and aligned my car about 1,000 miles ago). Can I get any reputable local alignment shop to just check and set the toe, or is this best left to Porsche professionals? What is the optimal toe setting anyway? Thanks for the advice.

Try Jason at RS Enterprises and see who he uses. As you know, he advertises in Der Auspuff. He worked on my Carrera a while back and I think he's top-notch.

I was going to call him if a local shop can't do it. He is about 25 miles up the road from here. He does all my work that I can't...
Funny, as I called him about the steering rack, and he told me (in so many words) to do it myself as it was within my DIY capabilities. Now, that's an honest mechanic.
