Porsche Crest First post.

Hi Guys, I've been lurking on this forum for a few months now and I now feel qualified to post. I have recently purchased a '85 3.2 Carrera Coupe. With help from various posts I have a project list:- factory quick shift and new selector bushings, new clutch cable and swepco oil ( having only driven the car for about 100 miles, the shift needs to be improved although getting used to it helps) The quick shift was authorised by SWMBO so she can drive the car. New rear suspension bushes and spring plate covers have been ordered from Pelican so thats next on the list along with basic filter and fluid changes. The one thing thats missing on the car is a Nurburgring sticker, so thats got to be addressed this summer....its just got to be done.

Cheers

Mark

Very nice! The steering wheel is on the wrong side, though.

The steering wheel was originally on the "correct" side but was converted in 1991 to RHD, hence the strange place for the stereo (rhs of the steering wheel and ignition barrel on the left of the steering column) This may be addressed when I complete my project list.......or does this ever happen?

Congrats Mark! It's a beauty. Nice red piping and stiching on the seats.

I, too, like the piping--great looking car overall. I think you should add a 3 spoke steering wheel to your 'looks' list--makes a tremendous difference.

Thanks for showing us your new beauty. J

mhinch, I love the red on your car. Very nice indeed. Welcome to the forum. It sounds like you've got a nice "to do" list already, and no, it will never end, but that's part of the fun of ownership, in my opinion.

Welcome!

Nice to have yet another European on the board.

Are you still driving her or has the salt truck emerged on your British roads yet ?

Markus, she's up on axle stands in the garage at the moment, so I can have a good inspect and replace/service parts as needed, I think we'll have 6-8 weeks of bad weather and that should give me long enough to work through my project list so she's ready for the Nurburgring trip.

Thanks for all your comments and the warm welcome

Mark

ps I build these cars for a living, my company is MAC#1 Motorsports,

Markus, feels wrong to discuss on a Porsche Forum..but its xmas...
the car in the pic has a 929 cc Honda engine fitted, weighs 495 kg and does 0-60 mph in 3.5sec. top speed is about 130 mph.
visit www.m1moc.com for more pics.

Looks great! I think it needs a front spoiler to go with the tail though!

I really like the cup wheels on her too. Nice.
