Bell position
Hey Jim.
Don't know if u remember - I have the 3.2 in the 68. My throttle is sticky as well. how should the bell sit? Should the prongs basically point down to the ground? Mine is cocked on a 60degree angle at idle. The engine throttle link looks like it is to short. Thanks again Rolls |

Rolls,
Here is a shot from a side view of my Bell Housing Linkage. Hope this helps: Remember this is LHD side. ![]() Cheers, Jim Yes, I place a dust shield to the ball pivot to the pedal linkage, It is loose fitting with lube, I also noticed the rod would rattle against my trans mounts cross member.

throttle bell
Hi again. Rehasing this thread - Just confirming that the bell arm pictured above is the correct way that it should sit? I.e. i thought it should be more like an upside down V rather than a V on its side as pictured.... Im about to adjust mine.

Oh my, your baby RHD, correct?
It should still be the same orientation if the Throttle Body arm in the engine bay is on the left had side. J

reviving this thread! I've changed the front and the rear Throttle Rod Bushings however I didn't change the middle one (yet).
Any instructions on how to remove the heater/e-brake on a '85? i've tried but didn't go 'all the way' as I didn't want to play with the e-brake cables |

I would mark the shifter plate prior to removal so it will go back in the same spot, carefully disconnect rod and or heater cable pivot assembly, move out of the way and you should see a metal bend tab to hold the bushing/s, use a mirror to locate it/them, open the coupler access and finish up the bushings, and that is pretty much it. As I recall, I think there is one near the front next to the pedals. It as been awhile since I did this but I kinda remember it.

thanks for the tip Draco! I think the bushing next to the pedals is this part no 90142325300:
https://www.pelicanparts.com/More_Info/90142325300.htm?pn=901-423-253-00-OEM - i'll have to change that one too concerning the 3 Throttle Rod Bushings (part no 90142322700) I changed the front one under the shift linkage and the one close to the coupler but i choked when I got to the one under the e-brake. I removed the seats and the 4 Allen screws and I think i just had to disconnect the rod of the heater but I didn't know how to remove the actual pull for the e-brake. i'll give it another try - thx |

Lube or No Lube on the Throttle Rod Bushings (901-423-227-00-OEM)?
When I replaced mine yesterday, I cleaned the rod, and the new Bushings were clean as well. I get a little noise when I thumped the rod in place. All guides in proper place and the rod through the Bushing. |

No Lube, disengage at the bell housing to see if you can repeat the noise
