Does anyone know the paint code for the White '80SC?

Is it called grand prix white?

Yes, it is Grand Prix White, and the code is 908.

I'm being told by a local painter (who has painted several things on my car - that match) that my paint code is Alpine White. It's an 80 SC. I always thought the only white for this year was Grand prix. Also a friend of mine has an 85 and his color looks almost exactly like mine.

Is there another way to verify my color (sticker er something)?

Extra info: My friend had Al Reed polish and paint (grand prix white) his wheels and they don't match the car. Once again he assumed grand prix was his color & mine for that matter.

82 SC had Grand Prix White - L908 and Chiffon White - L182.
The GP white is very, very white, the Chiffon is a warm, yellowish white.

80 SC had GP White and Alpine White, which is similar to Chiffon white.

There is sometimes a plaque on the front of the driver's door jamb by the interior light switch (not always).

You can look at colors at www.paintscratch.com

I don't have that plaque. There again the color is very very white and is a dead match for the Alpine white my local painter has been using on it for a few years. I would say there in no yellow tint to it at all.

Dope! I found the plate on the front door jam of the drivers side. Indeed it does say 908 which is Grand Prix white.

Here's the fun part. I had some touch up paint in a can. I sprayed a piece of scrap. And the color is very close to my car but a bit off. I took it by Orielly's and had them shoot it with their detector. The color of my car came by as Subaru Ceramic White. They gave me the code for it and GP white.

Here's my problem. At some point I'm going to have the car repainted the correct gp white. But I would like to get the front sprayed now to get rid of all the rock chips. Will the GP white blend to this subaru ceramic white look rediculous?

Like I said my sample GP white looks close. Here are the two paint codes and the difference in the mix if anyone knows anything about it:

I'm not understanding why you don't spray the front w/ GP white now. Why do the Subaru paint at all?

I guess I’m just scarred the GP blend with the Suburu paint is going to look like crap. I'm not sure when the Suburu paint went on but apparently the couple resprays that the car has had to the front bumper and valance has been with the subaru paint.

I'm obviously wanting to go back to GP white when I do a total repaint. But I'm curious if having the front section of the car GP white is going to blend in with the subaru white and be fairly unnoticeable or ridiculous looking.

Maybe I should just get the hood done to see how it comes out.
