I thought Guard's Red was Indish rot auf Deutche. I could be wrong, but that's never happened before...

Guards Red and Indishrot is the same:

PORSCHE INDISCHROT G8/027/G1 1972-1987 SOLID.
GUARDS RED 80K/G1 1987 - SOLID.

However sometimes you may see the hue of the color be a bit more darker than others even when the color code is exactly the same.

Guard's red rolls off the tongue faster and easier than "Indish rot auf Deutche" OR "Wachen rot", doesn't it? Hence the name of the thread being directed to non-germanic red, teutonic, scientific or otherwise - show me your red Porsche and hence, 289 posts and counting!

They are the same:

formulas, pigments change through the years as well. Many slight variations of Guards Red exist. Slightly lighter, slightly darker, cooler, warmer, etc. Thats why its best to get a match from a panel on the car when doing paint work.

You are absolutely right, cause I had my ducktail painted and some portions of my car re-touched. The shop which is one of the reputable ones around my area, had some issues matching the color due to what you just stated. Your old paint pigments may be different from the newer paint and even if the shop is good, you can still notice what is the old and what is the new regardless if it is the exact same color code. Although in this pic, the sun is hitting the side of the car when you compare my car to others pics here and cars that are the same color, still you can see the differences!

One more pic before hibernation

We got one last blast of heat up here in MN today before the winter - I think I'm going out for a drive tonight...
