Which wheels do you think would maintain the aesthetic appeal of this car?

I thick Fuchs would look good or maybe widen the original steel wheels.

I am not really fond of the original wheels so I'll have to look for something else. I always have this problem... I just restored my '88 xjs and put some DB7 brakes on... Sadly the original wheels don't fit any longer and I'll have to look for something with a Chevy bolt pattern (as the early Aston DB7s had). If anyone has suggestions on that, I am desperate.

Ah! the memories! I Autocrossed the crap out of a stripped down, hotted up Cramingear in the mid 60's - big anti- roll bar, decambered, wide sticky tires, etc, Speed was gained more by handling and driving than power on short tight couses. I kept getting pushed into higher classes due to the success of the total package, and I just finally ran for overall position, due to non-stock modifications, it did very well, but Lotus Elans and Minicooper 1275 s were tough. Stock brake drums would not stay round!! so much fun!!! I do love this project, balance should be interesting? Best of luck, Gordon.

Nice project.
No offense, but it seems quite a bit of weight is in the rear. With a short-wheel base, this might get a little tricky at speed when the steering wheel is not at noon. What does it weigh? Front/rear balance? Sherwood |

The carbon fiber shroud can be found at Autobahn. I will find the site and post it.

ghia update
Well, back to work on the Ghia. We have made a little progress, finished the back end and have moved to the front. I hope you all like what you see.

WOW! Incredible. I just saw this.
My first car was a 73 Ghia. I absolutely love those cars. The lines are beautiful. Looks like you are going to have a mean Ghia!

Had to build a whole frame for the front suspension, cut out most of the tunnel, steering rack etc. and build a frame that is an upside down U to hang the steering rack on, bracing etc. At the top, there are camber boxes that the adjustable camber plates will be hung on. The suspension itself is RSR front stuts, bilstein inserts, coilover springs, crossdrilled rotors, balljoints and the typical stuff that goes with it. The A-Arms are modified steel Porsche items and there was much modification getting the steering rack into the cockpit. It's a 74 RSR front suspension for all intents and purposes. Eric@provalkyrieracing.com will answer any more in-depth questions that you have.
