How to test for vac. leak ???
On a SC, what would be the best way to test for a vacuum leak. Flood engine parts with propane, acetylene, or carb. cleaner? Pressurize the intake with air and then spray everything down with soapy water? Or - I have heard of using dry ice under pressure????
I don't have access to a fog machine. |

Use propane and listen for rpm changes will be your safest way with out a smoke machine. carb spray can be dangerous (fire), though I have been told that maybe berrymans makes a carb spray that is not flammable.

Here's the best guide I know: Engine Vacuum Leaks By Larry Carley. Scroll about half-way through the article until you get to a section called: "ENGINE VACUUM LEAK DETECTION."
You might want to bookmark this page: Carley Library of Automotive Repair Articles. The author has written a lot of very useful stuff!
