Trombone cooler replacement...what size/type fittings?

I'm planning on removing my trombone cooler and installing a generic cooler/fan set-up under the front fascia. I will continue with custom made lines from the front fenderwell to the cooler.

What fittings/size do I use to attach to the existing oil lines? Are these AN? I assume they're metric...

Losing the trombone...........

I did this swap a couple of years ago on my SC. Here are some pictures:

Mounting Bracket

Bracket with cooler in place

Hoses added

Hand made protective cover with louvers
The plastic discs showing on the oil cooler are the back side of the straps that hold the cooling fan on the front of the oil cooler. The fittings on the oil lines are metric (probably 30 mm) and the fittings on the cooler are AN 16 (I think).

Go here http://www.batinc.net/main.htm - they have pretty everything you need for adapting AN-fitted coolers to your existing oil lines.

Excellent site. Their downloadable guide pretty much explains everything.

Thanks.

Looks good. Unfortunately, I don't have room in my fenderwell. I'll have to go inside/under the front bumper/spoiler.

If the cooler has metric fittings, you'll need a metric-to AN adapter on each end of an AN hose. Factory oil lines are 30mm. Use -AN12 or -AN16 hose, depending on what you decide to use. Oil coolers are available with -AN, NPT and BSP fittings, but most aftermarket coolers use -AN fittings. Adapters are available from BAT, ER, Pegasus Racing and many others. -AN coolers are sold by BAT, Earls, Mocal and others.

Use the larger hose size if possible and minimize the number of angled fittings. Each hose curve and/or angled fitting represents a slight restriction (i.e. pressure drop) in the system. In order of least-to-most restriction: Straight, 30", 45º and 90º.
