That's right. A '72 S would be the Holy Grail, however.

Nonetheless, enjoy the holly -- if nothing else you can always deck the halls with it.

Great find, well done and enjoy. Sounds like a final wash with disinfectant might be in order. At least you shouldn't have any insect infestation.

I am surere there are 40 or more projects, "while you are in there".
I would be tempted to pull the plugs and turn her over. If it's good replace the oil and fire her up from a jerry can of fuel.

I had a little time to clean her up today and poke around a little more. The more I look, the happier I am! The car was repainted the original color back in the 80's, I believe. It's holding up fairly well and will look much better with a cut and polish.

I jacked up one side and powerwashed as best I could. The pans look sound.

Why isn't there a crack in the dash?

I tested a little metal polish on one of the wheels. They are going to shine up really well.

The headlamp buckets are solid and I can't believe how straight the engine grill is.

Next I'll start replacing fluids, draining the gas tank, checking fuel lines etc. in preparation to trying to start her up. That should be exciting. Thanks for all your kind comments.

Absolutely not! That's 914 talk Jgordin

Strip that b!tch to the bare bones and be thorough about it! I say this BECAUSE it's a car worth saving.

Thinking about the rear torsion bar tube, rockers, floors that might have all that nasty water holding horsehair stuff, little cubbies in the front pan area, you name it there are places for water to hide and do nasty things!

Holy crap!! Great find and wonderful color combo. Have fun bringing her back with all the little projects that will crop up. I say don't restore, just recondition. My question is how did that couple in Louisiana find you? Gotta be a good story here - care to share?
