With my purchase I have asked if he can support us with replacement bulbs and lenses. Will post if he responds.

I thought of seeing if somone wanted to split a pair but I think I will just take my chances.

Sound's like he has a commitment and interest in supporting replacement parts per his reply:

"Hi Keith,

I always thought that these bulbs were standard bulbs. At least you can buy them like that in Europe. And yes I have spare lenses for these lights and am parting some of them to be able to keep them all in good health. The replacement parts also fot on the original lights.

Regards,
René"

The problem for Rene is that he probably gets more emails than he can handle... Everybody wants to ask him questions and take part in his success. When that is said I have communicated with him at an early stage. He will be supplying parts and he is now into making the unique yellow Cibie covers. I hope other will do the same as Rene has done and make other parts that is NLA, with the same high quality. The market is BIG, remember the whole Citroen DS/ID community has been stripped out of all their Cibie hood lights because of the demand and money in the Porsche community. Lot of Matra people want these lights to. I do not think Rene will have to share his success with anyone now that we have the Internet.

An old friend just passed away last year and while cleaning out his garage I found several sets of old Cibie lights. They are stuck in my storage unit for now but believe that they are like the ones that Mike just posted.

Really hope that lights like this become available again.

I am pleased to announce that these repro Cibie lamps will soon be in the Pelican catalog. I don't know what the final costs will be (not sure about duties and shipping charges), but I think we will be pricing them at about $595. I have not seen them personally, but the fellow who was selling the NOS originals at Ventura for $2K a set tells me he wouldn't be able to tell the difference between his originals and these reproductions.

Limited supply only and then they may disappear for a while (like the Momo Prototipos). Let me know if you guys want me to make a part number so that you can advance order a set from Pelican.

They aint going anywhere as they are locked up in my storage right now. Will get the info off of them and get back to you... but do not hold your breath as it will be after summer. It was 110 degrees here yesterday and am not going to go there until after summer.

Can you tell which are the repros?

Check the pictures and tell which are the repros and why?
The differences I have found:
The material of the chrome rings is slightly thinner than the original one.
The ring that holds the lamp is drilled to hold this lamp vertical, the original holds the lamp some degrees tilted.
The glass of the lamp has different markings.
The ring that holds the housing has stainless steel bolts on the repro.
The backing plate is powder coated on the repro.
But you cannot tell the difference if assembled.

The stuff on the right side is original in the first 7 pictures, as is also the A6 reflector, in the lower two pictures its the last lens.
