It's always cool in Ventura and up the coast.

So we have nothing this weekend in Ventura?

I take the 126 up from Newhall and the drive is great. I'm OK with waiting for cooler weather, but then again, my A/C works OK, not great, but OK.

Just following this thread to see what you guys would do once you get "there". A decent meeting place is the state park in Ventura, but make sure the Harley bike club isn't there on the same weekend (or vice versa :))

Dave, I've had a real job for 12 years now. Bored to tears. Maybe you & I should saddle up and make a run at Pt. Mugu.

I hear some dedicated folks have a decent event at North Island Naval Air Station in San Diego, so them gobmint boys and their airplanes seem to be able to step aside for a few hours once a year.

I know it's more complex than a few cones and a 1/4 mile of snow fence, but it might be doable.

And that Fleiger lad. He's local. I like his enthusiasm. I met him at Cal Speedway a few months ago before he became a published, internationally famous driver of exotic Porsches.

That would be the package Dave, old age & treachery and youthful exuberance. Remember when we were at the other end of the spectrum?

I love driving and hanging out. 2-300 cars would be great!

Seems rediculous, as the last few years they had difficulty getting people to show for two days. If it doesn't happen, Pelican will organize *something* around that time. It may be just a barbecue on the beach (we're about a half mile from Dockwiler).

Ventura Auto Fest
if you are interested in reserving a space contact eddie@worldclassmotoring.com

looks like its a go!

we have our spaces spoken for (GTS Classic Seats and TRE Motorsports )

Zeke 08-01-2008 07:53 AM

Dave, a bit more info, please. Date(s)?? I won't bother to email Eddy because I don't want a vendor space (or do I ??? :D)

Nothing on their site.

dlague 08-01-2008 08:16 AM

The World Class Motoring Guys are great guys. The date should be the same I believe.

I would e-mail Eddie and tell him what you like and what you would like to see.

TRE Cup 08-01-2008 09:54 AM

September 13th and 14th are the dates of the event

Zeke 08-01-2008 10:00 AM

OK, per Dick Lague's urging, I contacted World Class Motoring.

Here's what everyone should know: there will be an official announcement on this coming Monday. It looks like this event will take place at the Ventura Fairgrounds on Sept. 13 and 14th. I've probably said too much, so that's all I have to say except I told the gentleman in charge that he had my unbridled support and I would do would ever I can to assist in the way of getting the word out.

There will be no ad hoc run promoted by me, I'm behind the new folks 100%. So, let's let this thread die and look for a sticky when it's all together!

Thanks, Dave, for the information you provided on a timely basis.

Friday and Saturday??? Strange...

you sure about those dates? I'd like to get a vendor space - but since I've got two display cars coming...this doesn't bode well at all.

Please advise -

Oh boy! I hope you guys aren't referring to my little incident. I just like to pretend that didn't happen.
